For the battery device, I recommend a variable wattage regulated mod. That's a very basic, generalized recommendation, and based upon the limits of what you are currently using.

For the juice delivery attachment (tank), being a beginner I suggest a MTL type (mouth to lung) tank which will be more similar to a cigarette or the e-pen you are now using. For the time being, maybe avoid the DTL (direct to lung) subohm tanks that are generally used by more advanced vapers. Perhaps an Aspire Nautilus or Innokin Zenith tank will fit the bill for you.

There are several starter setups and individual battery devices and tanks listed in my blog:

One starter setup would be the Innokin Kroma and Zenith tank combo.

Thanks so much for the advice. I'll check out the video and let you know how I get on. I won't be able to get anything until pay day though.

When i saw this thread on the board list, i looked at your picture and instantly thought it was a picture of Ayatollah Khomeini.
Ha! One of the funniest things I've ever heard [emoji23] I'm just a ginger guy in his thirties vaping in that photo! I can see how the vapour looks like a white beard in that photo though [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

You can certainly upgrade, that's doable but thinking more about what you want out of your next setup will help you wade through suggestions you might get. I'm not going to give any yet, because what I like may be vastly different than from what you are hoping for. I can give you lots of feedback on different MTL vapes, for example and I own tube mods, but also box mods, but if you want to go way cloudier, for example, anything I might offer might be exactly what you don't want, if that makes sense.

If you want something teeny tiny with some power, try the vaporesso brand target mini mod or tarot baby/nano mods (without the tank) and a zenith tank :)

If you want to dive into the world of rebuilding , try some vandy vape clapton wire or premade clapton coils and the ares tank. (you will need some tools and information regarding safe practices and research first!)

If you want to dive into sub ohming DTL, try a revenger go and a horizon falcon mesh tank (or fireluke mesh pro).

If you want to recharge and replace your batteries, learn about mooch's battery and charger recommendations and trusted vendors.

If you want to make your own juice, watch some youtube tutorials and look up recipes on .....................

If you want something super tiny that looks like a flash drive with nick salts, try a pod system. (But they dont have much power at all)

The sky is the limit !

I'm new to vaping, but interested in upgrading from my £8.99 e-pen. Any advice for me?

Hola,
Which "£8.99 e-pen" are you using?
Do you have a vape store close to you?
Do you have e-liquid you need to use up?
Do you have a budget?

Cheers

Man...your avatar pic really looks like an Iranian shieck .
When you said (more kick) I assumed throat hit and overall satisfied feeling we used to get of smoking cigs...right.
In that case your best bet is an rta with slightly restricted draw (not a true mouth to lung draw) since you're also looking for decent clouds.
Stay at or above 6mg nic juices depending on how hard you wanna be kicked .
Any 60w regulated mod will do the trick since you will not go above 40 to 50watts with high nic juices.
My advice combo is (kayfun v5 clone + I stick pico), you can get them both around 50usd.
Also get some 26awg SS 316L spool and a couple of cotton bacon prime packs. (That’s 5 usd for the spool + 8 usd for 2 packs of cotton that last you at least 1 year).
From there you can ease your way to more advanced mods, Rta’s, drippers and Clapton builds.

And vape on

I got it from Home Bargains. It's called 88Vape.

My budget is around £50.

I do have a vape store kind of nearby.

You've gotten some very good advice. A simple mod is a nice step up for you. I generally recommend something with a replaceable battery so you can charge outside the mod (a generally good idea) and even swap in a fresh battery when one runs too low. I would look for something that will hold a 25 mm tank as those are more common these days.

All the typical VW mods have 510 connectors so you can change tanks which is handy if you want to try different versions to see what you like best. I would recommend something with drop in coils like the Zenith as tackling building your own might be a bit much on your plate to start. You can always do that later and they'll fit the same mod so no losses there if you do decide to tackle it.

Next is budget and availability where you are. Fill that info in and you should be able to make a fairly safe first purchase. Next up is deciding what juices you like as that IMO is as important if not more so to a pleasurable experience. You could have the best hardware but if you hate the juice you won't vape.

If you are wanting to stick with a pen , I hear Jull is really good. I used e-pens for a long time before I took the leap to a mod. I have two mods now. Both Vaporessos'. Swag and the Polar. Waiting for the Lux to come out soon. the Swag was a good starter mod for me. Goes up to 80 watts, compatible with all the Gt coils because of the NRG tank. Then over the weekend bumped to the Polar. The Polar is a 220 Watt dual batt mod. Pretty powerful. Just all depends on what you are after

Every one of you has given me such great advice and I'll check out every one of your recommendations. When I eventually make a purchase, I'll send you a photo of what I get.

This is what I own at the moment.
