Upgrading from a Riva, does the product I want exist?

Yeah, I am leaning towards picking up a couple of Riva SE batts for now and buying a VV mod, probably a Provari. Yes, it is too damn big but it just doesn't sound like one of the fancier 3.7 mods is enough of an upgrade to justify the extra size and expense.

I also have been thinking about getting a VV PV I was looking at the ProVari along with the Darwin. But I was leaning toward the ProVari from my research and for my own reasons personal preference etc. I even posted previous here about the ProVari and Darwin asking users who own both for their opinion. Since getting this Riva 510 using the Boge 2.0 cartos seeing that I am happy with it and just order another one.

I am now thinking of just getting the lower cost VV PV like the Infinity due to the lower cost and to just to try out a VV PV on the cheap to see how I like it. If I find I like a VV PV a lot and get the urge to move up to the ProVari I can just sell it as these VV PV seem to hold their valve, or if happy with the Infinity just stay with it. But I am very interested to try out a higher volt VV PV. It would be good for at home, at work and just use the smaller Riva 510 when out with friends, my girlfriend and at other social events.

I own them, and I also own regular eGos and Rivas and I like them all. I don't find a dramatic difference between them, honestly. I use them all with my eGo-t atties and tanks and with Boge 2.0Ω cartomizers and I'm happy.

No Switch??? How do you turn it on to vape.

Sorry it took so long to get back here. The all mechanical Prodigy V3 has a button on the bottom. It is hard to explain, but this button just pushes up and makes contact directly with the bottom of the battery which closes the connection and fires your atomizer. There is no actual "Switch" so nothing to break. It is what I like to call a "Forever" Mod. This thing is ROCK SOLID and will probably outlast any mod with an electronic "switch" installed because they wear out. That is not to say they are bad, I just heard stories of them breaking a lot. My Saber Touch mod has a "touch" sensor instead of a switch which should also help it last longer. Anyway, hope that answers your question. HAPPY VAPING!!

I think you've been sold a bad bill of goods in regards to 3.7v in this thread. First off, the performance drop many are talking about is nowhere near as bad as they've made it seem. Second, right before it dies, a 3.7v LiIon battery still hits as a good as an eGo or a Riva. Third, IMR batteries virtually eliminate the drop in performance that LiIon batteries suffer. By the time I notice a drop in performance with an IMR, the battery is just about dead. I'd rather have a 3.7v running straight off the battery than an eGo or Riva any day of the week.

With that being said, I'd suggest a box mod. After my REO, it's my favorite PV. The Bartleby that DC mentioned, is one example of the box mod, but they come in several different varieties. A plain box mod only costs $24 from Mad Vapes, or if you're the DIY type, you can build one for under $10. No other PV has a master on/off switch at that price. If you're planning on putting your PV in a pocket, this feature (or a locking switch) is a must have.

Yeah, but the Bartleby also has the built in USB charger/passthru.


If you know any others out there that have that feature and use a 14500 battery let me know.
Because I'm not sure the Bartleby guy is going to be making them much longer.

01/09/2011 I may start making the Bartleby again at the end of January. It is harder to stop than I thought.
