Well; it didn't take long.
smile.png

I've only had my V2 for three days and I'm already looking to upgrade. I do need a bit of assistance on this though.

After lots and lots of reading forum posts here and at other forums; I am more confused than before I started.

So here is where you "veterans" come in:

Hardware-wise: eGo-C vs eGo-T vs something else in that size range.
Which one is the best choice for a noob that wants to start experimenting with different flavor juices?
Keep in mind I don't want to jump in, feet first, into something overly complicated. I want to go with "plug and play" to get started. I know I'll end up getting the larger, more complicated units some time in the future, but for now; I just want something kind of lilke the V2 in simplicity, but with the added flexibility of being able to use custom flavors.

I watched some video reviews on the eGo-T and it just seems to be right up my alley in terms of simplicity. I know about the eGo Twist and the Vision Spinner and the other PV/PP units out there, but I want to minimize variables in the early stages of testing to find my "sweet spot" so I think I'd rather go for a "fixed voltage" unit and then do the adjustments on the atty/carto side.

Sources-wise: There are just too many sites selling their own branded stuff and I can't make heads or tails of which are good/reputable sites and which are full of "hot air"... Pun 100% intended.
Tons of sites out there and most of them look like they were put together by a blindfolded monkey. Now; I know that web design doesn't have any direct correlation to product quality, but I am a bit leery of handing my CC number to a site that looks like one of them old "geocities" free pages of yonder.

Which are the reputable sites where you "vets" shop at? Hardware, accessories, juice.

Flavors-wise: One of the flavors that I am interested in is something that tastes close to what Djarum Clove cigarettes tasted back when I smoked them. Those were probably the only analogues that I didn't mind lighting up inside the house. They just tasted and smelled amazing and I'd like to find something as close to that as possible.

I've seen plenty of sites listing clove flavors, any of you guys know of a particular one that fits the bill?
Would the "most mentioned" Bobba's Bounty fit that flavor profile?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you guys/girls can throw my way.

Seebs.

Hi!

An eGo-C and an eGo-T are the same battery. The "T" & "C" refer to the delivery system that comes with the kit. If you see a "T" or "C" "Upgrade" battery, ignore it. I have one and it's pretty much a gimmick Joyetech was experimenting with and not worth the extra money.

Below is the exact kit I started with. Pros: Inexpensive (compared to what I paid :p); the batteries are Joyetech; very easy to use; the cartridges hold about .5 or 1ml of juice (I can't remember), so you can try a small amount of liquid; the atty is separate, so you can drip if you add a drip tip; it has 510/eGo threading, so you can add anything to it: clearos, vivi novas, tanks, etc.; the batteries are small enough to take when you go out (I still use mine for that). The cartridges are also very easy to re-stuff, so you don't have to buy extras if you don't want to.

Cons: The batteries are 650mAh, which will only give you about 5-6 hours on a charge, but I didn't find that to be a problem (you vape one while the other is charging); it only comes with the cartridge system, but as I said above, you can add things to it.

There are more advanced starter kits available, but I'm glad I chose this one, because as I worked my way up through clearos and vivis it gave me something to compare them too. If I had gotten a Twist right off the bat, the benefits would have been lost on me. YMMV!

in my experience i started with a v2 ecig, 3 days later i purchased an ego battery 650 mah battery i believe and a ce4 clearomizer with some juice. that was a pretty darn good setup to start with u can get the battery and clearomizer with charger in a blister pack on alot of sites for like 20-30 bucks or so. the clearomizer is a good thing to start with because its simple to fill and use and when it goes bad u just chuck it and buy another they are like 3-4 bucks a piece or so. the 650 mah battery did good for me it was almost a full day of mild vaping. depending on how much you use it you might want to get a 900 mah or 1000 mah battery, but i would try a clearomizer to start like i said its simple. As far as sites goes i would stick with big mainstream sites like madvapes.com or gotvapes.com something like that they are reputable. Thats about all the advice i have, good luck and vape on!

After squandering money at the mall on inferior performance I upgraded to an 1100 mah KGO kit from Hoosierecigs.com. Around $50 for two batts the charger and some clearos. I'm a huge clearo fan at the moment and also got my ViviNova from the same site. Most recent batt purchase was the VV KGO from the same vendor. $25 bucks and you get to play around with variable voltage up to 6 volts. Only 650 mah though so it has yet to leave the house with me. Been supremely satisfied with KGO so far, no issues. Same goes for Hoosierecig.com, my last two juice orders have been through them as well. Mixed in house, which I like, but I havn't tried enough of them to recommend anything. Currently enjoying an espresso flavor and a red bull flavor. Also really like Gandalf from Heathers Heavenly Vapes but last I checked it was pulled off the website (for renaming I believe). Definately no clue about any clove flavors. Sorry. Happy hunting!

If I could go back in time, here's what I would tell myself hardware-wise after deciding to upgrade from my V2 kit:

Buy two 510 Value 900 mah eGo-T batteries and a charger - Value eGo-T 900mAh Battery (Black) [VALeGoT-900BAT-BLK] - $12.99 :

Buy a handful of 510 DCT tanks - either SmokTech or IBTanked - and twice as many SmokTech 510 Dual Coil 1.5 ohm two hole pre-punched XL tank cartomizers.

Tank Replacement Cartomizer - SmokTech - Dual Coil - ECBlend

Tank - SmokTech - 510 Dual Coil - 6mL - ECBlend

Tank - SmokTech - 510 Dual Coil - 3.5mL - ECBlend

https://www.ibtanked.com/

From here it would have been an easy transition to a VV mod (like my Provari) with the existing cartomizers and tanks.

I can't help you much with the juices as they are subjective from person to person. I would have told myself to order small sample bottles from different places - particularly Mountain Oak Vapors - and to keep an open mind about non-tobacco favors (and to avoid vanilla-flavored e-liquid as I just don't like it).

I would have also told myself to get glass bottles and to refrigerate my e-liquid.

Cobalt Blue Boston Round Glass Bottle 1 oz w/ Dropper

I use V2 and Bloog pen-style KR808Ds on occasion with Bloog cartomizers. I use the eGos at work and on the go. I use my Provari at home and sometimes on the go. This might not be everyone's ideal setup, but it definitely works for me.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

First off, as this will come out quickly anyway, how much are you wanting to spend?

As for avoiding VV and adjusting with the atty, I think this is a bad plan of attack. As this industry is so dependent on supplies from China, and vendors seem to get an "ebb and flow" with customers going on buying binges at a whim, you may not be able to get your proffered atty when you need it! This is the joy of VV, buy what you can get your hands on and make it work to find your sweet spot!
As Ego's go, they run the gambit in size, you can get the 350mah stealth up to I think? a 1600mah version now? I've gotten away from them as I don't like the "disposable" factor of them. I'd rather throw away a battery and keep a device I like.
You haven't said what you like in a juice delivery system, so I can't help much there.
For finding a juice you like, buy a lot of samples and get a dripping atty of some sort. The HH357 is highly regarded, but pricey, Ikenvape sells the I06 that is good for a reasonable price. There are tons of bridgeless 510 atty's that will work, or on the cheap use a needle and loosen the filler in a standard carto, remove the filling and just drip into it to sample juices and find what you like.
The problem with suggesting something is taste is so subjective. I will taste something and get this flavor and that, you may not taste any of them and get something completely different! Most places sell small sample bottles, or packs of them, so it's not that expensive, just time consuming.
Vendors, well, they are all good and they all suck! It just depends on who you talk to and what went wrong that day! EXPECT to have problems, EXPECT things to go wrong! Something may not get shipped, may get shipped broken, may break in two days etc. It's the norm right now. Most of these are small two to six man operations and they are normally overwhelmed! That's fine, it's what they do to make this right that counts. Read their forum on here, see how they deal with complaints, and how many of them there are. Read through the review section and see if you find a common theme, "This place messed up constantly" or "This place made everything perfect". I've dealt with many of the vendors that are on ECF and have yet to have a major problem. Most of my orders have been smooth with no issue, a few had some issues, but they were taken care of right away. That's most important to me, taking care of simple mistakes, because the will, and do happen with everyone.

Go for the twist or spinner. Just set it at 3.3 and leave it. You might not want VV now but you will in the future.

Not a bad suggestion, but Twist or Spinner kits are more expensive (and you need a kit since it comes with a charger) and the delivery systems are move advanced (as in, they usually come with clearos or vivi mini novas, which doesn't give you the option of trying a little juice at a time. I also haven't seen kits (haven't seen which doesn't they don't exist) that come with a atty for dripping (which would be what you'd have to do try new flavors, without a cartridge or very small clearo/carto - there's one Baditude recommends but I'd have to look it up, I don't remember what it is).

A Twist will charge on the same charger as any other eGo and you can get a Twist for around $17-$25 when you decide to add one. :2c:

KGO is an SLB product I believe. PBusardo has a video about them and GrimmGreen compared the Twist to the KGO VV. The first 650 mah clone I bought, no idea who made it, had its .... soundly whupped as far as performance by my KGO's as far as how the vape felt to me personally. They work well enough for me that I think I can wait quite a while before jumping on a VAMO or an eVic or a ProVari. Especially since I discovered ViviNovas with a low resistance coil.

The basic 1100mah kgo made by slb has a little more power than an equivalent ego and is unregulated. I have 3 of them and they have been going strong since last feb. I just keep them as backups now or for dryburning heads. These were my first batts after the v2 and got me off cigs. These days vv is available in smaller batt form like the twist or spinner and is worth getting because you will eventually want to try it. Actually I prefer the spinner over the twist. The kgo charger works with both the twist and spinner.

I thought this was a good deal so I got one to use as backups. Code NEWB is 5% off
eGo 1100mah CE4 Kit

Nice kit (although I'm a Joyetech snob ;)) but my question with the one is: how would you try a small amount of juice if you didn't know whether or not you liked it, before filling up a whole clearo?

Ok... I've read all the replies and I'm processing all the info so at the moment.

Man; this is overwhelming to say the least. I thought I had it figured out and that I would just get a nice kit with a few attys and some 3ml tanks, buy some juice and vape away... But NO!!! Now we're talking about clearos, vivi novas, kangers, dual coils, etc.

Thank you all for your help/suggestions.

Someone asked the obligatory "how much do you want to spend" question so I will answer that one as it is the easiest one of all:
- As much as it takes to get what I need.

That doesn't mean I'm going to jump feet first into the deep end of the pool and spend $200 on a ProVari, but when it comes to making the move from the "normal" units to the more sophisticated ones; it won't be a money issue.
Right now; I just want something that is simple, easy to use and as "noob friendly" as it can get; the last thing I want happening to me is to end up going back to cowboy killers because I got in over my head with overly complicated vaping gear and ended up sucking on nicotine liquid through a straw.

As far as flavors go. I know this is a very subjective area and everyone will have their favorites, but I also know that if certain mix is truly bad most people will find it bad... Same for the other end of the spectrum... When something is extremely good; most people will find it to their liking (I think RY4 and Bobba's Bounty fit that category, or at least I haven't found a single review that said otherwise).
And I don't mind trying something one of you liked to see if it works for me.

Thanks again,
Seebs
