As BigJim just mentioned...The govenment uses the media to fuel the fire...maybe it's time for US to start using the media more effectivly. We need to start locally(newspapers, local tv news..ect.),and putting ourselves out there. Were the ones who use this product, and know how much better it is than what we were using before. We know our overall health has improved, breathing, sense of taste, sense of smell. We need to start promoting ourselves until we reach a national audience,by starting at the bottom. The current tactics being employed are not working...we need to move to a new game plan.Contact your local news media...they may me more interested to what you have to say than you think!:)The Wiz!

Well I fought it out with a writer from LA times today lol -- Email was titled:

The FDA plays the media...

well that got his attention -- I pointed him to the blog by Dr. Siegel and he said:

Right. I believe everything I read on blogs....

We need to let them know that we aren't going to roll over. We have a system here that can be the perfect compromise and can address the concerns about the health problems caused by smoking, and satisfy our desire for nicotine. We need to lay the question on the table,,, Are you going to work with us to come up with a set of standards that will allow a safer alternative to come on the market, or are you going to continue this BS shell game that is designed to collect money for a few people.

Lives are at stake here! Forget what the FDA says about these current studies. If there is a way to get this done safely,,, and I believe there is,,, let's cut out the bull, and get it done. The FDA is losing credibility by dancing to the tune of big tobacco and big anti tobacco, leaving the smoker no voice in the process. The voice is beginning to assert itself.

There are some very good ones here in the forum. We're learning a lot from each other!!

Another place to write -

I've noticed that alot of the tv stations and such are simply repeating or regurgitating the article that was written by AP Business writer, Matthew Perrone. I suggest that in addition to continuing to post rebuttals on websites and continuing to write to places that are regurgitating this, that we also write to the AP.

I could not locate a direct address for Matthew Perrone. On the AP website it says "For general questions and comments;or to contact a specific employee: info@ap.org "

See if you can dig up his contact info and maybe we can direct some efforts to sway him to our side
