2,459 signatures already received on the petition only 97,541 to go keep signing people! We have until May 24th to get the signatures required to get Obama to veto the bill so there is still time but wouldn't it be nice to surpass that number way before the the 24th of May? SO everyone need not panic that it has to be done immediately, but it would be nice to get all of those signatures before the 24th! :vapor:

Sorry to say but meeting the level doesn't mean much. I just means they will take a look at it. The likely response will be a boilerplate "Thanks but, ahhhh, no". Regardless who holds the office. Again, sorry, but you have to keep expectations tempered. This fight is just beginning.

Please don't be mad at the following, I just wonder if anyone else feels the same. I am not looking for a flame war of any kind, but I wonder why do people not check these petitions for errors before posting on the site? When creating a petition to the government, does it not make sense that it ought to be free from errors? Perhaps the inclusion of studies to sway people in favor of our side? I find at least three errors in the petition. I am willing to sign but fear that these petitions will make us appear to be uneducated citizens. It's a noble idea to create this, but once again fear that we will not be taken seriously.

I entirely agree, I never sign any of these petitions because of that reason. However, I did sign this one, any bit of awareness to the American public helps. Especially when it's something like the government ignoring a hundred thousand people's voices. It's not much, but every bit of exposure counts.
