URGENT: TN Vaping Ban vote soon -also other states info links

Wednesday, April 20th at 2 PM at the Statehouse in Nashville, Tennessee the House Agriculture Sub-Committee will meet to discuss and vote on HB 1729. Sections 1 to 17 of this bill ban the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.

Be aware that Section 18 would ban the sale of electronic cigarettes until they are approved by the FDA as a drug delivery devices (as the New York Bill also tried to do), which the two federal courts have suggested should not happen.

Please visit the above link and send letters even if you are not a resident of the states with upcoming votes in TN, SC, KY, and NY, since we are against ANY state banning e-cigs, and other states bans have failed - our responses are important!

Just to clarify, that link goes on to say: ....express the need to vote NO on this bill unless an amendment is offered on the bill that would delete Section 18 from the bill.

Because when I first read this I'm thinking they shouldn't be sold to minors anyhow.

I received this response to the email I sent to all the TN reps about the vote tomorrow.
Please email all the TN reps even if you do not live in TN - some suppliers have businesses here that you want to be able to use - one TN supplier that I do know of is Puresmoker.com - located in Goodletsville, TN.




I do not support the sale of this product to minors but otherwise it appears to be a good product that helps people stop smoking. If that is the case, I am happy to support it.

As I live in N.C I am sure the ban will get around to affecting this state as well I did visit the link and sent the letters. As I agree with minors not being able to get them I am fully in agreement that adults should be allowed to vape.

The bill passed the Ag sub-committee today but they took out section 18 and some others, now it is only a ban to sell to minors which we fully supported. Big props to Steve from Puresmoker for showing up and carrying the vaping flag for all of us.

This is excellent news.

I completely support the ban on selling to minors. But that's IT.

Hope I wasn't out of line by mentioning another vendor in the Bloog forum but wanted to mention the person who was willing to stand up and fight for us TN vapors as his business is located in TN so it would have directly affected him. I think this bill in the original form would have been damaging for all vendors in our state.

Not at all! Everyone is affected by these things. I'm glad they got it modified to make more sense.

I'm glad you did - since I live less than 40 miles from his business and didn't know it.
So I have a closer source for juice than I realized. I also respect those who fight for
all of our rights to be preserved.

Steve is out there fighting the good fight on our behalf. He deserves our support and our gratitude. I for one will visit his site and show my thanks by placing an order.

Every state that shoots down this ban is a victory and leverage for those states that haven't yet voted on it.

And I agree, that the tobacco age requirement should hold for e-cigs and e-juice.
