Urine smells like my Vape Juice

I've been vaping for about 3 and a half months in a working attempt to quit smoking. Two packs a day for 15 years and it helped me quit immediately. Great stuff. However, after a night of drinking, and waking up dehydrated, I noticed that my urine smelled VERY strongly of the new dragon fruit vape juice I had just purchased two days before.

After searching all over the internet I've found that there are a very few other people out there who have experienced this... and although most people were incredulous and threw the idea out the window, a few people have tried to explain how this could theoretically happen, including dehydration as a possibility.

Most of these posts were many years old (2010), and none had ever been officially answered. I was just wondering if anymore events like this have been reported, and if so, if a cause has been found, or if it could possibly be dangerous.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does your e-liquid smell like urine, or does your urine smell like e-liquid?

Drink plenty of fluids and call me in the morning.

You're not supposed to drink the ejuice. :D

All joking aside, I've never had this happen to me, but I don't really know what happens to flavor compounds once they're inhaled. If some of it reached your bloodstream, plus the dehydration, then maybe? I don't actually drink much anymore (depression issues) but when I do I always make it a point to hydrate myself, I don't know if I'm worse about it than others but I really feel it when the alcohol dries me out. Vaping heavily will dry you out too. Just another reason to drink more water I suppose.

Its not a problem, but most people would prefer not to talk about other peoples bodily functions. The ones who will, will most likely make light of it. That said, that your urine smells like vape juice is probably something nobody wants to know about, let alone how you determined this. Do you have any legitimate vape related questions? :D

I feel that this is a legitimate vape related question if there could be a possible harmful side effect. I'd also like to think that the people who would laugh at a question like this are immature and should probably move along if they cannot help.

Ahem, I determined this as it was a VERY strong smell, as stated, that I could smell while standing, and yes, laugh if you will, I bent low to my cleaned toilet ( as I am an adult), to confirm.

You answered your own question.

Dehydration isn't anything to take lightly, dehydration can damage internal organs & brain,,, drink more water.

So can I confirm that this is a dehydration issue? It has always been an offered guess.

Either way, after speaking with my shop owner, all she could tell me was that although no serious side effects have really been seen, that it is still a relatively new product that has yet to be fully explored.

I will speak with a medical practitioner and post his/her answer here for anyone interested in their answer.
