Great comments on this article. I'm glad to see how vapor and even non-vapors are taking a realistic view and not getting obnoxious making vapors look like fanatics (which I've seen in other commentaries). More discussion like this will help the public understand. I just wish that the "addicting youth" concern would be addressed more with some research as well as the notion that the "vapor is harmful" argument. I may have to post later- just no time at this very minute.

Not too bad an article but I could not find anyplace to place a comment on it.

At the bottom before the comments it says

I'm curious how (and have asked) Tom Kiklas of TVECA estimated that 5 million e-cigarettes will be sold in the US in 2012 (which was cited in the USA Today article) and previous sales estimates during recent years.

Several months ago, TVECA also estimated that $500 million of e-cigarettes will be sold in the US in 2012 (an estimate that I tend to agree with), which means the TVECA believes that the average cost for an e-cigarette is now $100.

Since recently developed disposable e-cigarettes are now being sold for $10, I don't know if the $100 is still the average cost.

But $100 sounds about right for the average cost of rechargable units that use prefilled cartridges and/or mods that use e-liquid.
