I'm going to the US for a few weeks - around Seattle and NW Idaho, have seen many different brands in previous trips, but didn't think they were "legit".

vaping is banned in my country and so I can't pick one up til I get to the US - been doing some research but it doesn't give me any cons - only "pros" about the e-cigs.

Also, since vaping is banned in my country, I'm looking for something that is long-lasting (1-2 years?) and is easy to use.

BTW, I smoke marlboro gold when in the US and am looking for something that is most similar...
Are there particular models that bros would be so kind as to recommend?

Any help would be greatly appreciated... Tried everything already. Nic patches, gum, the works...

If you want something that's going to last you a good long while you're probably going to want two things: A mod with a mechanical switch, and a rebuildable atomizer like the iAtty or similar. Mechanical switches are more robust and likely to last longer, and much more easily replaced/repaired. Rebuiltable atomizers can basically last you forever, since all you really need to rebuild them is nichrome wire and 3/8" silica rope. With both of these you'll probably never have to worry about anything but juice.

Hmmm - you might want to get a mod with removable industrial batteries that are also used in high-power flashlights. That way you would always be able to get new batteries. Some mods are big like E-power (which is like an Ego w/ removable batteries), some are small like Boxmods.net Little Sister 3.7 or variable. You would also have to get a charger and batteries (boxmods.net offers combinations in the dropdowns). And for variable voltage I recommend the extra cost option Varicool or Evercool some call it for longer battery charge.

You can even get inexpensive build-it-yourself mod kits at Madvapes.

If you end up buying a slim ecig get manual batteries (harder to damage or kill with juice leaks) and don't buy a clone that could be lower quality. how will you get supplies like eliquid, and atomizers or cartomizers? For a slim one I would recommend Joye 510 mega xl manual and it looks slimmest in black - it's pretty long (128mm with a cartomizer) but 280mah charge and buy spare batteries, atomizers and some Boge cartomizers (standard reisstance) to try. If you want it to look like a cigarette - standard size Joye 510 manual in white and use tan Boge cartomizers from NiteLiteVapor (but where will you get more??)

And after you have 5 non-spammed posts and about an hour's wait you will be able to post elsewhere - here is the Singapore section

Thank you for all the replies bros. Yeah, I'll definitely check out the SG subforum. Thank you for that link.

Also, would be great if some bros could recommend any online website that I can order from that they used before, and any good "must try" flavors!

Just about anything from Kick Bass Vapor, Tasty Vapor or Ms. T's Bakery, I would say. All top notch juice vendors.

Thanks, great links bro. Beginning to like this forum a lot!

So now after a bit more research,
i'm looking at the Joye 510.

Any pros/cons about this model that bros used before could be so kind to share? Can't seem to find any "proper" reviews. They are all 5 Stars... Actually every model i come across is 5 stars. Which makes the 5-Star rating pretty unbelievable.

Things like battery life would also be handy information!!

Are variable voltage harder to use? Cause I've read about some kind of e cigs where you have to drip liquid into the device while you draw from them? Confused about this!

And I didn't know there was a Difference! I thought the joye 510 was the same as the joye ego...?

Essentially, the eGo is the same as the 510, it just has a larger battery. But it can still use all 510 attachments, as well as all eGo attachments.

VV mods aren't very hard to use, though how some go about it is different than others. The Buzz Pro is what I'd call a "simple" VV mod in that it just has a dial you turn to adjust voltage. Nothing fancy, it just does its job. The ProVari on the other hand has a little LED display and a menu of options (accessed by pressing the button X number of times) to adjust voltage up or down, turn the unit on or off, check battery voltage, check atomizer resistance, or toggle the button LED on or off. The LED display is also used to display error codes in case something goes wrong. (Such as, most commonly, when you set too high a voltage for the atomizer/cartomizer resistance you're currently using, where it will throw an E2 error code.)

Dripping liquid isn't to do with the E-cig, it's just how some people prefer to vape. Dripping uses an atomizer and a "drip tip" that goes in place of the cartridge, and you simply drip a few drops of liquid directly into the atomizer through the drip tip. Those who like to do it say it gives a more "pure" flavour, and that cartomizers and cartridges tend to impart a little bit of the taste of the filler on the juice. (I find this is only true in some cases; there are some cartomizers that, for me, don't seem to change the taste of the juice at all, or at least very little.) For me I find it cumbersome since you have to keep dripping more liquid in every 5 puffs or so. I'm lazy. I'd rather just fill a carto and forget about it until it needs refilling.

Bro mindfield: that's a great and detailed reply. Helped me to understand everything I needed to know. :)

One question though: what exactly is the battery life of the 510? I'm a pad smoker if that helps.

Any time! :) Standard 510 batteries are 180mAh, which is pretty small. How long you get out of that depends on how much you vape and the resistance of the atty/carto you're using. But in general, given standard atomizers of 2.8-3.2ohms and average vaping pace you can probably get a couple of hours out of that. Kits like the popular Volt have a 78mm battery option whose batteries are 320mAh, so you can about double that battery life with a Volt and extended battery.

eGo batteries start at 650mAh, and larger batteries of 1000, 1100 and 1300mAh are available, so again, you're talking at least double again with the smallest eGo battery to about a day and a half or more on a full charge with the largest battery.

Again though all of that is dependent upon the resistance of the atty or carto you are using. Lower resistance means more power draw but a warmer, more flavourful vape.

Also: how do you know when the device needs refilling?

You'll know. Atomizers tend to start tasting burnt when they're low. Cartomizers may or may not start tasting burnt; sometimes they can just start tasting kind of off, but you'll know it when it happens. After a while though, once you've been using them for a while and you're familiar with the gear you're using, you'll have a better idea of when they're getting low before the taste changes and you'll top up. It's always good to keep atty and carto coils wet anyway, it extends their life span.

All right! Your a real expert aye? Hahaha. Anyways, Thanks so much!

I think I will try the eGo out for starters before trying anything more complicated. :) this community is really great.

You're welcome! This really is a great community. We all started out as newbies, and got some great help and advice here, and we've all become avid vapers as a result and that just makes a lot of us just want to pay the advice we got forward and help others get the best out of the whole experience. Vaping really does work amazingly, but it's so much better when you've got a great community behind you to give you encouragement and timely advice.

Good choice! check out the eGo Mego Dual Coil Cartomizers from Madvapes The kit is 48.99 for 2 900 mah batteries (ample battery life), 4 mega dual coil cartos (which are amazing! I love these!) that hold about 3-4ml of juice (that would take you a day or more to empty before refilling), one usb charger, a 10 ml bottle of juice, and a black zipper case. A great deal IMO :D I love mine.
