 Ok this may be a dumb question but Im going to ask anyway

what size of wire should I use for a USB passthru? I want it like 7-10 feet long. and want it to carry 5v 2-3a. will a USB extention cable work? from what I have read the wire is anywere from 28-22 gauge wire, but there is no standard size. standard USB only carries 5v .5a I dont think it would work. or could I just use an old long lamp cord? :glare:

ok just shooting it out there if USB cable will work, can I link a couple of them together to get the length that I need?

USB wire should work fine, most attys will draw about 1.5-2A (if I'm not mistaken), unless it's a homemade atty, so, you should be fine... and 'linking them together' should be fine too, although idk how much resistance this may add if you're using the USB connector instead of connecting the wires....

The main problem you pointed out, but glossed over: you need a power source that puts out enough amps, many (I would say most) usb ports and wall adapters are only 500-1000mA, you'll need one that's 1500-2000mA, or 1.5-2A.... (or 2-3A if you're really pulling that much at your atty)...
