i mean car & wall plugs with the USB slot, can a USB passthrough be pluged into it and vape? sorry I'm kinda a dummy, want to ask first. rather be safe than sorry.

Yep, works fine as long as there is enough current. I've tried both my Kennsington charger and my IPod charger and they work fine. I also have a car adapter, you have to be careful to get one that will put out 1000MA or better. Mine is 900MA and works fine, but I got lucky.

thanks, how about the wall plug?, I have one for my 401 USB charger, was wondering if I can use the wall plug with the passthrough, when I am not useing the passthrough on my PC,

Sameeee - yes, the passthru works in all three - wall plug or car lighter plug with usb and of course the computer. Tried in all three. I just got one from Dietsmokes and it took a while for the battery to come up to speed - it was still charging - so I let it sit for a while and then normal vapor and going strong in wall or car. I have a short extension cord taped up a side table by 'my chair' in the living room/tv and it's great. Both of the PT's I have are Janty($28), but have one coming tomorrow with hundreds of mls of 36mg juice from eastmall ($15 for the PT).

The chargers don't work with passthroughs. Not enough power. Check Amazon.com. Get the 110v or the 12v car adaptor. 5volt @ 1amp (1000mA)

Ooh, I have a 401 charger, and I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for clarifying that, Jim. I searched Amazon for "usb wall adapter" and found some 110v/5volt@1amp, and they only cost 1 cent, plus $3 shipping. I don't understand why they are so inexpensive. Do you think these are OK?

I paid 1¢ for my car adapter, I think they make a little on shipping. Probably OK, not a lot to lose.

The adapters are not expensive. I bought mine on Amazon. They had a "twofer" I got the 110v and the 12v car adapter for less than 5 bucks. I've been using them regularly.

the reason I asked is my son gave me a Powerline 2-in1 dual usb charger, it says usb power in your home or car, I can't find anywhere the power output, you can plug it into the car cig lighter or in a wall plug, I was hoping this would work. it says it is no longer nessessary to be tied to your computer to charge your device,
if it puts out the same voltage as a PC usb wouldn't it power a passthrough??

Only if it's capable of carrying the amperage. Batteries will charge on low amperage, around 400mA. 850 to 900mA is the low limit for a passthrough. 1 amp (1000mA) is a safe margin.

the reason I asked is my son gave me a
Power Line 2-in1 Dual USB Charger
AC DC Travel Charger

you can plug it into the car cig lighter or a wall plug

on the back it says

AC Input : 100-240V 0.1AMax
DC Input : 12-24V 650 mA
Output 1 : DC 5V==500mA
Output 2 DC 5V==500mA

I am hopeing this would work with a passthrough

At the top of the page it says 1000mA. That should do it nicely.
1000mA = 1 amp.

Thanks, I saw the 1000mA at the top, but no mention in the description. I already have a car adapter, but after looking at it's specs, it's only 250mA. Probably why it only sort of works. Not a lot of vapor. Also been wanting a wall charger, so for $5 with free shipping, what the hell. Just bought it.

that will work even tho it says it's for the Apple Ipod Sansa Zune???

They pretty much all list things like that, because that's what most people are buying them for.

It shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 days for me to get mine, so if you want to wait, I can report back after I've tried mine, but for $5, I figure if they don't work, I'll have a couple of chargers for other things, or I'll throw them in a drawer and try something else. They should be fine though. Like I said, the one I've been using says 250mA, and it works, just not a lot of vapor.
