USB Charger problem

I got this charger with a kit from V4L, but didn't use it right away, as I used the PCC and AC wall charger. It worked fine the first time I used it, but the second time the blue light stayed on when I plugged in a battery to charge. The charger no longer functions. I took it apart to se if it was something obvious, but didn't see anything.
I emailed V4L about replacing it and I was told that my 45 day warranty had expired. It had only been 42 days from when I received it, and asked when there warranty actually takes affect. I got no answer, and nobody signed the first email I got, so I don't know who it was from. That's .....ty way to do business.
Anyhow, has anybody else had the dead USB charger problem?

Hi there,

I'm sorry, I said I was not able to replace your charger because the order # that you provided me with is over the 45 day warranty. The other issue is the fact that we can't take back items that have been taken apart. I apologize if you're upset by this, but we need items back untampered with and within warranty in order to replace.

I did not take it apart until after it quit working. Actually, all I did was remove the cover and look around. There is not a whole lot to it inside. And I did not tell you I took it apart in the email I sent in. You never did answer my question.
When does you 45 day warranty start?

If I were guessing it works just like any warranty does. At the time of purchase. I know if I order something from amazon the warranty is off of the time the item is ordered. I have ran into this issue with some merchandise before.

The taking apart thing is more than likely the worst part now though. It doesn't matter how much you take something apart, once you take anything apart it voids any warranty :(
