I recently purchased a Compact eGo Vision Kit from PBDragon.com. The battery is a 1100 mah. Im wondering if my HTC AC adapter will be compatible, or if I will screw something up.
The AC adapter says:
"Input: 100-240V ~ 200mA 50-60 Hz "

"Output: 5V --- 1A"

The charger's description on the website says 420mah eGo Fast USB charger. Again, just trying to not ruin the battery, charger, or AC.

Thanks!

USB output is always 5V but the amperage can vary between them. The USB charger provided with my eGo battery is 500mA while the USB charger for my phone is 2.1A. I've used both with my eGo battery and haven't noticed a problem. I've also connected straight to my PC and I have no idea what the amperage is there.

Maybe we have electricians here that can tell us if the amperage has any affect on the battery itself.

You can look at the charger that came with your eGo and if it's 1A then you should be good to go. Electricity isn't my thing but from what I understand, the more amps your charger has the faster it charges the battery. Some batteries can handle the faster charge but for some it might limit the overall life of the battery.

Its bad to charge a battery with a higher charging amperage than it is rated for. Hence why they say not to use the JT Rapid Charger with older 510 models (anything before the -T series).

The JT rapid only pulls 420ma, and most phone chargers put out at least 500ma (the one for my droid is 800, anything below the phone won't charge). 500ma is the standard for USB I believe (along with 5v as Saintly mentioned above). I think they raised it to 1a for usb 3.0 but can't remember.

Also, if your USB adapter puts out more amperage, the charger will only pull what it needs. So if it is a 2.1a (which I think tablets use) the rapid charger will only take its required 420ma.

But, basically, the JT rapid charger will charge on any USB. Its not as picky as phones.

I've given up charging it from the USB on my laptop. $700 laptop > $30 worth of ecig gear. I got a wall adapter from eBay for $.99 w/free S&H.
