Shadow, it is soooooooooo much better to purchase a Kensington Power Pack from Best Buy for $39.99 than hook to your computer. This way, you actually CAN get up and take it with you to the bathroom and anywhere else around the house and you will NOT need an extension. LOL Honestly, this is much better than hooking to the computer.

LOL I think there is no such thing as TMI on this forum!!!!
I just purchased the Kensington (made hubby run to get it on sale at BestBuy yesterday while they still had 3 of them!!). Plan to use it in the car and at home. Regular price is $59.

Yesterday I also ordered the really cheap-0 Ultra-Mini 1000mA USB Power Adapter/Charger (100~240V AC) Item# 19242 $2.55 each USD (for 5+ bulk, otherwise, I think they are around $3.50 ea) from DealExtreme. Plug your passthrough into it and just plug it in the wall, or into an extension cord (another cord for you to drag down the hall and into the john, ha). If you have an iPhone or some of the other rechargable devices with a USB connection you might have one around already.

AND YOU CAN ADD A 4 PORT USB PLUG to the Kennsington and vape with 3 different units u will have a bunch of cords, but you will have a bunch of vaping as well, actually you can add another 4 port to one of the ports and get up to seven units at once,, sounds a bit over the top, but when I vape I VAPE that KENSINGTON IS THE BOMB

All joking aside, you're right. i say to keep the passthroughs away from the computer. I have the 110v adapter for home, and the ciggie lighter plug for the car. Stressing the computer ports is not good.

Not a good idea Cos. if he trips over one of the cords and kills himself, the FDA will blame his death on the e-cig.
