I've been using a PT on one of my 901's for a while now and am not getting a good kick from it. Not any better than on battery. Turns out my Belkin Powered USB Hub is rated at 5v .5amp. I seem to be understanding that 1.5amp is the way to go for a USB hub to vape from? I found some power adapters to use with your existing hub to give it a boost to 1amp, 1.5amp, or even 2amps.

USB Hub auxiliary AC Switchmode 10 watt regulated power supply, with 5 volt DC output.

Thoughts???

Does your PT have an in-line battery or is it a straight-through.

If it has an in-line battery, it will be EXACTLY like using a freshly charged 3.7V battery because that's exactly what it is. ;)

If it does not, then your output is limited by the amperage of your power supply and I believe the 901 needs more than 2A to run at 5V, but the 2000mA supply you mention should get you into the 4V+ range which should be pretty satisfying.

I use this puppy in the house-- USB wall adapter

It does a great job powering my 401, 201, and 510 PTs.
As a matter of fact, the 201 PT with this adapter is almost too much for me.

Don't know how a 901 would work on it, however. No reason to believe it wouldn't work just fine.

Now does this plug directly into the wall outlet or does it have a wire that runs to the power source? I assume it doesn't need to be connected to the computer, correct?

At less than $2 it's a steal.

It plugs directly into the wall. There's two USB sockets, so I imagine if you used both at once, i.e. the PT and also charge a battery, you'd be splitting the power output. Just use one of them.

Geez I need to pay more attention to the ohms, amps and volts ... I am using a passthru with an in-line battery for my 510.

USB source? Xbox 360 :D

But its a battery inline so it should be a constant voltage / amp I imagine.

Or is this a bad idea? I never even thought of a USB hub!

If you have an in-line battery, the amps are supplied by the battery so the amperage of the USB source only determines how quickly the battery is charged. However, the battery also limits your voltage to the voltage of the battery. In a nutshell, a PT with a 3.7V battery just means you'll get a nice consistent 3.7V (actually more like 4.2 before load)--more consistent, in fact, than any given 3.7V mod.

Remove the battery from the equation, and then your power is determined by the source and that's when a powered hub comes into play.

I bought 2 of these for my 901 PTs and they were awesome, ones on the bedroom the others in the liv room, I never need batteries if the PT does not die on me.

Yeah, I've been using mine for months with a 510 PT with inline battery, and never had any indication the battery's losing strength. It just keeps on tickin'. And I'm a heavy vaper.
