I finally got a PT the other day for my 510, good lord is it nice to not have to swap out batteries all day long! However, I have noticed that it is melting the bottoms of my carts! And DAYUM does that taste nasty.

Now, before you ask, NO, I am NOT chain vaping to the point of getting my atty THAT hot. I take a few hits and let it cool off...always have..I'm too afraid of popping my atties!

I know I can fix the issue by trimming my carts.

I want to know if this is normal or is there something wrong with this PT??

It's the kind that has a battery in it, and I have (had) it hooked up to my laptop. It works fine so far..just melting my carts...so I have unhooked it for now and gone back to the dreaded batteries. :nah:

I've had a couple deform even on batteries and I've heard many more say the same. Do you algn the cart with the bridge?

Well, I did deform one in the beginning because I didn't realize how hot the atty was getting. Once I realized that, I backed way off and now give it time to cool down.

I've tried aligning it with the bridge, I've put it the other way, I've put it every way! It doesn't matter and I'm not vaping the heck out of it...so I don't know what gives. ??

I guess it's nothing more than the stock bats are only 3.1 volts and falls off rapidly. The one in the pt starts at 4.2 and stays there. So a more continuous higher heat. Just a guess. The atty would hold heat and take less to heat back up.

That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure my PT wasn't defective or something. I'm already half scared to use it on my laptop anyway...sure don't wanna use it if there's something wrong with it.
