This post will probably be controversial, and i'll probably get responses telling to grow up, or suck it up, or similar.

Basic economics and the basic laws of supply and demand are at play here, but jeez the pricing of GG products in the classifieds is nuts these days.

I want to buy an Ody with expansion kit, but I'm not going to pay 30% more than retail for something that isn't even discontinued.

Heres hoping the licensed resellers are careful about the quantities they sell to an individual when items come in stock. It would be a shame if one weren't able to buy a new Ody because they get snatched up by speculators.

I'll wait for them to ship to resellers, unless a deal comes along where both I and the seller can feel good about it.

You and your Ody sale aren't the problem, but the price is a symptom of a bigger problem. Supply is being vastly outpaced by demand. I'm sorry if you resent my post.

John, You were not mentioned and your sale wasn't the first and won't be the last to have a similar level of profit built into the pricing. It's the nature of the beast. If the market will support a given price then people will pay. My feelings about the matter won't change that. It's not just GG items either. Last week someone was selling a $100 bulli a2-tm for almost $200

Any feelings you may have about your pricing and your sale shouldn't be pinned on my dissatisfaction with the current market.

I agree and I must say it's mainly contained to the ECF Classifieds, for whatever reason the same things go on other classifieds for about 30% less on average. There's SSGGTS, Stealth cap, I-atty and a spare switch on an Aussie forum for $220 shipped for the lot, if the same thing was sold here it would be about $350-$400 minimum.
Imeo it looks like you need to scale up production ;)

Why not mind your own business instead of trying to mind theirs? There is no price that is too low or a price that is too high when people have the freedom to decide for themselves.

The key phrase is "for themselves"....not what you think or what I think or what anyone else thinks; just the buyer and the seller. Nobody is telling you what you should pay so stop telling anyone what they should sell for; unless it's your money it's not your business.

Para, it is my business. I am a buyer.

How is it good for the market for the buyer to have no say in it?

The buyers do -- that's why mine has already sold, dude -- instead of worrying about the cost of a few packs of smokes you made your decision, principles are great but GGs are better, absolutely no offense meant, reality is what it is!!!:)

Thanks, para.....:thumb:

You aren't a buyer....you are a want to be a buyer; not close to being the same.

The buyer is the person who agrees to pay an amount the seller is willing to accept.

If I offer something for $100 and you won't pay it, you aren't the buyer. You become a spectator in the transaction and that's your choice.

The answer here is simple.

1. The price of a GG item still in production is set. If you are buying an item that will be in stock again soon it's best to wait rather than pay over the odds for a used one. Then cross your fingers you are quick enough on the day. I know it's a lottery but that's the way being a GG owner is. If there were hundreds of each item available the GG wouldn't be as special or sought after. If you're not lucky enough to get what you wanted you end up in the next scenario.

2. If an item no longer in production there is the rare factor to add on. Maybe it has a special serial number. Maybe it's just a piece that is not in stock at the moment. Then it comes down to how much you want it. How much are you prepared to pay for that special piece you've always wanted? If the price is too rich, don't buy it. There will be someone else who will buy no matter what the price.

I don't mean to offend anyone here, I see both sides. Supply outweighs demand and prices in the classies will reflect that. I would love to have the cash to buy some of the stuff I see but I have more mundane things I have to spend my money on. Like I say it's all part of being a GG owner. As with all walks of life there will always be winners and losers.

Regardless, spectator, buyer, wannabe buyer, whatever... I'm making an observation regarding pricing, as I have the right to do.

As can be seen by others responses, I am not alone in my opinion.

So, I don't get an Ody today... I'm still here, still vaping my UFS, and I'll order one when they're in stock.

Prices are usually set by demand....collectibility... And resale value.. Gg's hold their resale value and are in high demand and low supply. Some people will pay above market value rather than wait. So the "worth" of that used item is higher to them than it is to you.

This applies to various items ... Cars....etc

I think we have had enough of the rehash of a rehash of a rehash of the selling price of GG products in the Classies. To put it point blank, the item is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it!!

You were not willing, someone else was. It is sold, so no need to beat the horse, it died already!
