Today I discovered one tank wasn't giving me much of a hit no matter what so, although I thought it might be too soon, I decided to replace the coil. Unfortunately before I did I had turned up my MVP 20w to about over 7 and I burned some juice?

After I replaced the coil I indeed began getting good hits again and turned down the MVP. But what can I do to avoid this in the future since some tanks cook better than others and I keep forgetting which levels I have them at.

And how do I get that burnt taste out of the tank? Thanks!

Personally, I would not use soap in something I vape from too regularly. If you do, just make sure you get it all rinsed out. It's a pretty good bet that inhaling soap is not good for us :)

Thanks. Do you wash or rinse your tanks with water before using them for the first time? Is it bad for the tank or juice if a little tap water is still in it?

Not trying to answer for Ryedan, but I always wash my tanks before use. When they are new, you never know what kind of residue/oil/release agents are left over from the manufacturing process, so I like to start with a nice clean tank.

And no, it's not bad if there's a little water left, just try to get out as much as you can. Normally I leave mine out to dry on the counter overnight, but sometimes I'll just give them a quick shake and go.

New tanks get a bath and scrubbing with dawn and a real good rinse with hot water, real good for the reasons Ryedan mentioned. Then a nice bath in Everclear, the cheap stuff and another real good rinse in hot water.

After that first good cleaning hot water will clean just about any rebuildable tank, coils not so much.

I clean my tank every other day or so. It's super easy with the kanger subtank mini since you can completely remove the Pyrex glass and clean and dry everything right then and there, put it together and vape away :)
Kanger made cleaning easy. Just sayin lol

Thanks. Do you ever have trouble unscrewing some of the parts? It seems like the bottom and top pieces are sort of stuck on mine. I don't know if it's because some juice got in or if it's just tight.

Also, is juice non toxic in case I get any in my mouth accidentally? Thanks.

I'll get some, thanks. :) Actually would rubbing alcohol work?

Some people feel fine with rubbing alcohol, some don't. I don't know how safe it is to vape rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol, but I do know that it's deadly poison if you drink it. I don't mind cleaning tanks and contacts with isopropyl, but for cleaning coils I stick with ethanol (vodka, everclear) since we know those are (at least somewhat) safe to drink.

I don't use tap water on my coils, either. All kinds of nasty stuff (chlorine, etc.) in tap water that you probably don't want to be vaping. Again, I'm okay with using it to clean the tank parts, but for the actual coil, nuh-uh. If an overnight soak in vodka won't do the trick, I just call it spent and pop open a new coil head.

I use Isopropyl 91% not Rubbing alcohol. Iso is just alcohol and water, Rubbing alcohol has other ingredients that you do not need. Everclear and unflavored vodka are also Ok.

Since I live in a state that bans everclear because someone might get drunk off of it (it's for the children, of course!) I just usually buy the cheapest, highest proof vodka I can find at the liquor store.

Thank you! I won't use it on the metal then. I'm probably going to need more of the bottom pieces for my tanks soon. Hope I can find them. Eagerly awaiting 3 more vape mail packages with a couple of extra tanks. I'm still getting used to learning how to draw without burning juice.

That's a nice story, but I'm looking at a bottle of "rubbing alcohol" right here, and on the label it says (quote):

Active Ingredient: Isopropyl Alcohol 70%
Inactive Ingredient: Water

So, maybe some rubbing alcohol concoctions have more in them than alcohol and water, but it's not necessarily the case with all of them.
