ArcticFox is dope. I love the ability to monitor the device's sensors in real time on the PC. I'm hesitant to buy any device that doesn't support AF or eScribe (my shinyitis is mild enough to avoid buying expensive DNA board-equipped devices, so it's basically all AF).

Yea, totally agree..and being ignorant ; ) I would like to try A DNA. Digitizers and control circuits are not all the same. With that being said, if there's not software allowing control/monitoring ArticFox, a mod that can use ArticFox are a requirement by me too!

Discovered some very interesting things about flavor profiling by waveshaping. I am extremely happy with how repeatable the hits are and be able to change the flavor profile 5 different ways on a single juice. I'm not talking a little, I'm talking about me changing profiles and it's like a totally different juice! Same tank/juice and the very next hit!!

Things I've learned for me vaping so far is I prefer DL.
TC is the way to be.
Not a cloud chaser, quick fad at best.
Might be a flavor junky!

I'm a direct lung flavor chaser too. Some might say that's an odd combo, but I'm too used to an unrestricted draw to deal with MTL atomizers. Mainly I use single coil atomizers with plain stainless steel wire at about 30W. I haven't had much luck with TC on my devices, with or without AF I end up with the coil changing resistance slightly and it gets either too hot or too cool, but I guess it's time I gave it another shot. Which mods work well in TC in your experience?

Can you tell me about waveshaping? I've never heard that term used in the context of vaping.

Coil changing at first is normal and AF can fix that quickly. Just watch resistance graph when cool and get current resistance. Then set and lock that in AF and upload.

I should have a short video explanation up soon on waveshaping.

Disclaimer, my first experience with vaping was a Nexus pod 2 months ago. I've had a Pico 75 w Melo 3 for a week and a half now. Tried 4 juices. Used 2 type of coils in my Pico. SS 316l coils and a RTA inbound atm

Very much like Pico. It does have cons IMO.

22mm tank size limits tank options.
Not enough battery for a 75 W mod (dependent on how used).

Now if the Pico was the only mod I had and had to use it is forever? Yea, I think so because I have it consistent (within <1.5%) everytime even when my hits obviously vary more than that.

Arctic Fox breathes new TC life into devices from the holy trinity (WeeLeaf/Wismec/Joyetech) that had a mediocre TC at best with stock firmware. AF compatible devices are the only devices I will run TC on other than DNAs.

It can't touch Replay mode on a DNA 75C/250C though, Replay mode is the true plug and play of TC.

Boards generally recognized as doing TC well include the DNA, Yihi, and Dicodes boards. The DNA boards are programmable with eScribe on your PC. AF was developed as third party software to mimic that control on chips ftom other manufacturers like eLeaf and Wismec.

I'm a regular TC vaper and do rely on DNA based mods. I know folks have had good results with AF on mods like the Pico. One significant difference is that unlike the Pico the resistance is not, or shouldn't have to be locked. This allows for refinement in the cold resistance of the coil over time and can minimize issues with changes in ambient temperature (not eliminate, but close enough for me).

Dicodes makes an extremely fine board but is only found in their own mods or some rare custom builders who get their hands on one. Control is all mod based and the menu system while comprehensive is kinda complex. Yihi offers its higher end chips in its own mods or again a handful of custom small volume mod builders. They do make more affordable boards that can be found in mainstream mods, but without the same set of options or performance as their higher end line.

I like to go months without connecting my mods to a PC after the initial configuration period is over, checking the cold resistance every time I pick up the device is not really viable for me (and it has to be every time, as after firing the coil for the first time, it'll be a while before it returns to room temperature so I can read the cold resistance), especially when I get good results in wattage mode, but I've been getting good results so far, hopefully whatever factor was messing with my resistance is no longer in play.

    Looking forward to that video.

I've had the original Pico for a while, good mod, made much better by AF, though the screen and the paint did not stand the test of time after a couple of years. Melo 3 is pretty underwhelming in my opinion, I feel like the atomizer is the one part of the vape that you have to drop some money on for good results (but maybe stay away from atomizers machined by and washed in the tears of German virgins, diminishing returns is a thing).

Sorry, I wasn't clear. After a little use (few ml) , the coil may change a little and ideally need to be reset once.

The problem I had was the coil changing resistance after sitting for some time regardless of the age of the coil. Luckily, it hasn't happened yet since I was inspired to try TC again by this topic.
