THE,
You would have what I am using right now. I use a USB wall adapter that has a 2 amp, 5 volt output. The 2 amp output is important.

I use this thing all day.

If you can find a car 12 volt to 5 volt, 2 amp USB it will work also.

The passthrough is amazingly good.. I'm just using it through a USB port. I have a good strong psu, but I don't think my USB headers push alot of amperage because it won't work at all through a usb extender cable..

I should be close to 5v, right now, no idea what the amperage is but I'll have to get one of those 2A adapters. I can't find any output ratings on cigarette lighter to usb adapters, are they all basically the same thing???

Interesting.. I was reading this USB 3.0 Basics And Applications : USB 3.0 On A Stick: Super Talent's RAIDDrive 64 GB and it says "USB 3.0 also supports 900 mA per port, rather than USB 2.0’s 500 mA. This is a blessing for portable storage devices that require a bit more power to operate. With USB 2.0, some devices would only work with Y-type cables to access power from two USB 2.0 ports."

That lets me know that my computer USB ports will only give me half of an amp.. I wonder if I could use a Y cable to get power from two ports... ??

But I'm already getting a little shock from the cartomizers on the passthrough.. (especially from the one I've used so much that the wrapper came off of it!!) .... So I don't know that this one and two amps is a good idea for me..

Also I'd like to know if I could cut the wires on the passthrough and just use a 6v 1.5 or so amp wall wart with it...

THE, Then I answered your first question saying that was what I was using....What I really have is a Net Gear wall adapter from a router or hub...not sure what this came from.

This thing is a rock solid 5 volts at 2 amps.

All I did was cut the mini plug off the Net Gear supply and splice it into a USB female connector. I them plugged my USB PT into it. This thing works great.

On the USB female you want to connect to the two outside pins and leave the 2 middle blank.

OR just splice the PT into the NetGear wires. Thiis will also work.
