Using blank cartos and liquids...messy?

Okay, I'm back and forth between the concept of using liquids and blanks and ordering cartos that are prefilled. I was a menthol smoker and clove smoker (Djarum Blacks) for a long, long time.

Just got a Bloog and am vaping the menthols right now, and love it.

A lot of people have suggested to me that I use liquids and blank cartos instead of purchasing prefills, but I'm so worried that I'm gonna get into some messy stuff here! LOL!

What's the realistic mess I'm going to deal with here and should I just deal with cartos that are prefilled for a while, or make the leap?

Any clovers out there? I definitely want the best possible experience that is nearest to the clove as I can get...menthols are a bit easier! LOL!

I'm so happy I did this. I just don't want to screw up my carto/battery of my Bloog in the process either! LOL! I can just see me killing this thing and then having to babysit my porch and bunch of analogs again!

Thanks!

If you have soft caps (rubber), what keyzy said works fine. If they are hard cap (plastic mouth piece), then condom fill is the way to go until you get some extra rubber tips and can pop and toss the plastic ones.

Condom fill is not that hard, nor all that messy. I don't sweat losing maybe 1/10 of an ml on a fill.

Hold one of the rubber end caps that doesn't have a spire in the middle in a small piece of tissue in your hand. Fill it with juice about 2/3 of the way. Slowly push the carto battery connector end down into the cap. If a bit bubbles out the mouth end don't worry. Let it sit a minute, then slowly pull the carto back out. Wipe carto with the tissue. Blow through the mouth end, holding the tissue loosely over the battery end. Wipe the battery thread. Vape.

Some people bulk fill cartos at night, do 3 or 4, let them sit overnight in the rubber caps to maximize the juice absorbed. This is fine, personal style.

Threaded end down?
I've never seen people do that, I've always seen mouth part down.
Though I think that this would get more liquid into the filler. Mouth part down seems like it would just push almost all the liquid into the air chamber.

I just did my first refill last night. Pulled the plastic cap off a used cart and dripped 21 drops of juice in that I bought on line. Not a real big deal but I think I need more than 21 drops. Didn't last as long as I expected. I'll try 30 tonight. The whole thing is trial and error but I'm intrigued by the potential to save a few bucks instead of buying the prefilled. Plus I can mix and match. Last night I did 17 drops of PG Tobacco and 5 drops of EG Burly. Little on the harsh side for me so I'll adjust the recipe tonight.

Yes, threaded end down, particularly if you are using something like the longer cool cartos. The filler on some cartos is pretty far down from the mouthpiece.

Pop the cap and drip absolutely works really well too. I do both, just depends on if the carto has a hard tip or soft.

Quick tip on removing hard tips. Do this the first time you clean a carto, drop it in a cup of hot water (I microwave a coffee cup to near boiling, then take take the cup out and put the carto in.). After about 30 seconds fish it out with a spoon, hold in a paper towel (so you don't get burned), and the cap should come out pretty cleanly with a paper clip or fork tine. The heating just softens the glue.
