I have been using cartos for 3 years. I fill mine from the top when they need refilling because I found that I get a more uniform fill that I can control without overfilling or gurgling, and it keeps the catch cup clean. When I squonked, I found that the juice would clog the air holes of the carto making the draw tighter. If you do decide to try cartos, I recommend using them at 6v. Worlds of difference from 3.7 volts and better than using LR cartos at 3.7v. Just my 2 cents.

Right now I'm using those clear cartos that Rob has on his site and quite frankly I'm loving them at the moment. The give an awesome vape and the flavor doesn't quit compared to my last set up so I'm very very intrigued on what the RM2 can bring to the table once I get it!

In reality the REO was designed for cartos and attys since there were no RBAs (or not very many) when Rob first made them.

Cartos work just fine .... they were all I used for a year or more back in 2010 2011 .....

I filled mine first once and did a tiny tiny .... and I mean tiny blind squonk every 10 hits or so .....

You could in theory vape for like 50+ hits without squonking just like a carto on a non feeding device but ....

I found if I gave it that tiny (did I mention tiny) blind squonk every 10 hits or so the flavor remains really good.

Big plus is never a drop spilled out into the catch cup with cartos .... ever ..... errr as long as you remember tiny blind squonk

In terms of best brand of carto, I've not used anything but Boge LR (2.0Ω) 510s in the standard length, both unpunched and laser-slotted for tanks. I've been happy with them. Others find the Smoktechs to perform well. I recommend you stick with single coil. Many find cartos perform better in a tank than stand-alone, and I think I'm one of those. It's certainly more consistent.

I suggest you also try and keep a disposable atty in the 1.5-1.8Ω range as a backup. I like the 1.5Ω Joyetech 510 as well as Empire Mods 1.5 and 1.8Ω (where I also got my sealed 510 to 510 adapter and some short, black delrin drip tips).

eta: I get unpunched standard length Boges for $5.49/5 and laser-slotted ones for $6.49/5 from SureVapes.com. Free shipping on orders over $10.
