So, around the end of this year I got into rebuildables (specifically gennies) and organic cotton is all that I use. I was just wondering who else uses cotton in they're genesis style atomizers? I know many people prefer SS mesh but honestly I've never tried it, cotton has always worked great for me so I use it in everything!

Here's a pic of both my gennies rebuilt with cotton, my RSST (on the left) and my Aga-T2 (on the right), which I really need to re-fill, but that's beside the point

I'm another.... Just started using cotton in my RSST and it was love at first vape. I've got a big pile of pt heads i am itching to rebuild with microcoils and cotton now.

What ohms you got going on there Jamez?

I've got 1.6 on my RSST and 1.4 on my Aga. I started out rebuilding Protank heads but my success with them were mixed, it was more of a hassle for me

My concern as well. I figure on building a few with cotton and a few with some 1mm silica and see how they do. What was most prevalent issue with the cotton in pt head? Dry hits or leaking or ?

For me it wasn't so much a problem with the cotton instead it was the rubber grommet burning. I'd make a (what I thought) was a great rebuild, take my first drag, instant burney grommet taste. Sometimes I did use too much cotton and the airflow would be stiff and it would flood, I learned that less is more, especially in a coil head  still though, I never had much luck.

Eww... Ok, i will take heed. Perhaps i should start with my little rda's

Imo rebuildables are MUCH easier to rebuild than coil heads, I originally thought of bcc's as a stepping stone to rebuildables but I think it's actually the other way around  I'm not saying not to, I know some people have had great success with rebuilding bcc's but I rarely ever got it right.

Cotton balls are a little trickier to use in coils - i finally got tired and am using cotton yarn for PT coils. Bunny balls work great for me in Gennys, Tridents, etc.........

I thought about trying some cotton yarn just out of curiosity, what type do you use? Yeah with cotton balls it's easy to get a little bit too much.

when putting the grommets back in a pt head make sure the neg. lead coming off the coil is as close to the inside wall of the head, if theres space for air between the lead and the wall I've noticed i get hot spots close to the grommet causing burnt grommet flavor

Thanks for the info, I rarely use clearomizers anymore (with a few exceptions), they were just always a real pain. Even after rebuilt (assuming the grommet didn't burn) it still didn't really perform amazingly, at least for me anyway. That's why I went into rebuildables, they're much easier to work with, you have more room to work, and the performance is just top-notch and reliable.

I use the peaches n cream 100% cotton yarn - got it from wallyworld - i like to boil it as I do the bunny balls in distilled water twice - 15 mins each time - new water each time...........each yarn thread is made from 4 smaller strings - use it as is for the coil and 2 little strings for flavor wicks....
