I'm torn right now. I'd love to have a freshly rolled smoke. But I don't want to go back to previous levels, and I don't want to be addicted to both smoke and vap - eventually I'll have to give up on one. Maybe I should go buy a pack of factory cigs as a comprimise.

Thoughts???

Thanks
David

Hi David! I'm pretty much right there with you. I'm on my 3rd week vaping. The first two weeks I cut my smoking in half. This week, I changed PV's and today I was able to cut down to five smokes.

Any progress is good progress if quitting smoking is your goal. I think it may take me another month before I just forget to smoke one day. Every one is different so find the nic level that works best for you (I had to go UP to 24mg from 12mg), a PV that you love, and you'll do fine!

Thanks again for all the follow up. Maybe I need more nic and don't know it.
Maybe I need to use smokeless tobacco of some kind (but doesn't that rot your mouth?)
Maybe I need to buck up and suffer a little bit. For now I think I'll continue what I'm doing - vaping some and smoking some. I just added up my juice use - looks like I'm at about 1.75 ml/day of 20 mg/ml juice. About what I thought I'd need, but less than many here seem to use. It might be I just need to learn how to use the juice better -
we do not all inhale and absorb the same way.
Last time I quit burning tobacco I went 8 months - I was miserable and cranky the whole time. I don't want to use tobaco, but I'd rather die young than as a cranky old man. I'm hoping e-cigs will let me split the difference. I'm not giving up yet (even though I may be a chain quitter)

Hey everyone. I'm actually fighting a craving for an analog right now. Came on ECF to distract myself, then I found this thread. I'm around 2 weeks into my vaping, and have only had a half an analog (the last half-.... in my tray) in the last 48 hours. I was feeling pretty good till I had dinner. (My batteries are dead/charging8-o!!!) Anyway, just thought I'd share a bit of knowledge:

It's fact that nicotine is addictive, sure. But [one of] the reason(s) some of us are still craving those damn cancer sticks is the MAOIs in the tobacco leaf, and how they only amplify the addictive qualities of nicotine. Obviously those MAOIs aren't in the vapor, so here I am. I'm thinking that after another couple/few days without those MAOIs in the leaf, my body might get more accustomed to the less profound hit from the nicotine in my PV. I also poured some water into my ashtray, which I haven't emptied for awhile, so those butts ain't looking too good right now. The water's a deep yellow, and the ....'s themselves have turned a dark brown-black. I look at them from time to time and imagine how my lungs must look...
