I have moved up from a simple ego type battery to the vv/vw itaste. My only issue is that almost every flavor has a harsh throat hit since switching over. I have the voltage set at 5 (highest it will go) and I run the wattage between 7-11 based on the flavor. Still every liquid but one has a really harsh/horrible hit. The mix is the standard 70/30 pg/vg mix @ 16-18mg nic. I was wondering if anyone had the same problem or any suggestions.

Honestly, I bought a couple iclear16 awhile ago and did not like them at all. The dual coils seemed to boil my juices. I still think single coils are much better for flavor, plus they don't wear down your battery as fast as the dual coils. Maybe try a different clearo type like an Evod. I had better luck with the Evods for the Itaste.

Thank you everyone, I read online when I first got it that I needed the 5 volts because it was a dual-coil tank, but I guess they are wrong. I just lowered it to 3.8-4.2 and I can actually taste all my flavors, not just the burnt, horrible, throat-hit. Thanks everyone.

Your VV will tell you what resistance your tank is, and then you can get a ballpark for the range on that chart. iClear 16's are 2.0ohms, which means you really don't want to go over 4.0 (or 8 watts) - and as you've found, 3.8-4.0 is a good spot for most juices in that tank.

I run my mods in watts and play around with the heat until I find what tastes best to me, the charts are only suggestions, everyones taste will be different.

Of course, charts are ballpark, some juices need more "oomph" to get the flavor out, some are more subtle. Some change flavors over a range of power, and all are good.
