Check the USB adapter -- a lot of people recommend one rated for 2A (2000 mA) output for use with a PT. The ones for general PV battery charging may only be 80 - 200 mA range.

the AC usb charger adapters won't work with non charging PT's, only the inline ones.. It has to solely be an AC USB ADAPTER not made for charging.. I got the universal (5v/2amp) one from walmart and it works great..

.. doesn't have to be soley, duh. the universal ones works with both and others that say at least 1200mA and up will as well I believe.. you have to make sure description says it will work with a non inline PT when you get it from ecig suppliers though..

There are different ones made, yours probably has a plastic piece inside the plug and wont run your PT, AS WELL AS THE post below saying it's not srtong enough, it is probably .5 Amp and wont run your PT, you need at least 1Amp to run the PT however you want the 2 Amp one to really get the best performance, they also make a really nice one for the car to plug into the Cig lighter that is 2 Amp, its worth the little bit extra to get these for sure, if you search you can find deals on these too
Here's a link to a 2 Amp Adapter on eBay. I purchased 2 of them, and they work great with the PT.

Thanks. I'm picking up two of these. The ones I bought from Madvapes work great for recharching batteries but don't work with the PT's.
