Hi All,

I'm using a shot glass three quarters full to clean my 306 attie. It's been in there since last night and the vodka has a very slight yellowish tinge to it and certainly smells as if it's been infused with the sweetness of my DIY juice.

The question I have is can I re-use this vodka or must I throw it away (or dispose of it by some other method)?

Thanks
Daz

I toss my atty's and cartos in vodka , for a few hours , then use a syringe to flush them out . Then just blow out the excess vodka , and you can use them right away . No need for drying overnight , or whatever . And unless your willing to drink your e-liquid , I would just toss the vodka . I just use the cheap stuff from grocery store .

Seems like a waste of vodak to me. I've found using high concentrate isopropyl alcohol is very cheap and effective to clean this type of thing. A good soak and if need be rubbing the worst parts with a q-tip or even pipe cleaner and then a good rinse and letting it air-dry has always cleaned all sorts of smoking devices (which, you know if you ever burned tobacco in can get much dirtier). If need be, adding salt and shaking it helps as the salt will act as an abrasive.

You can buy all sorts of expensive cleaning solutions, but alcohol seems to work best and is much cheaper if you don't use the kind one might drink on occasion.

What about clear vinegar instead of alcohol?
Sure you can. Lemon juice too. Also some use vinegar and baking soda. No matter what, these things leave an aftertaste and you have to rinse real well.

What about 99% isopropyl alcohol?

I use hot water. If that doesn't work....isopropyl alcohol. Blow it out well and/or rinse then let dry.

Basically, isopropyl alcohol evaporates 100% without residue. That's why it's used to clean stuff. There shouldn't be any aftertaste unless it hasn't evaporated. Very small quantities like used to clean an atomizer should be harmless. It's inexpensive too and has no sugars (vodka still has minor amounts) and it has less water than vodka.

Of course: 1) Keep it safe and out of kids reach. 2) Make sure it says 91% isopropyl alcohol (or higher %) and distilled water on the ingredient label AND THAT'S ALL. Some use the term "rubbing alcohol" but that can refer to other preparations that include oils and stuff for sore muscles. So make sure you use the right stuff.

IDK what sterilising powder is. More info? What Chemical? (Sorry, UK/USA Term mis-match. lol. And it's shovel, not purse. And car/auto not Lorry ;) Sorry. Just kidding.)

Can this cleaning method be extended to cleaning my VVN heads with the wicks?

Sure. Disassemble and remove the head from the tank. Use Hot water or whatever your choice is.
