Thanks very much AttyPops. I'm going to try and clean my VVN using a combination of hot water (hand hot) first and then submersion in vodka overnight. This includes the tank and attie with the wicks. Am I good to go?

IDK how that works with the plastic parts.....may work, may not. IDK.

Is there not an quick, inexpensive and reliable way of cleaning this stuff like an ultrasonic cleaner?

Some do use an ultrasonic cleaner. I haven't tried it though.

I'd rather not add any more sugar to the attie's and other components. Coke contains acidic acid which is probably why it cleans. I'm looking for a total quick clean. I may invest in an ultrasonic cleaner. I'm surprised others haven't posted that they've bought one and if its good or bad

Do a search. It's here. There are posts. It's good that you're thinking though....

I've used an ultrasonic cleaner, but with mixed results. I've since switched to rebuildables, but as I recall, my best results were actually with a no-name brand of cola. I let them sit there a day or two, then rinsed them out well. Concentrated vinegar mixed with glycerine also works pretty well. After soaking, I'd hold the atomizer with a pair of pliers and pour boild wather through them from both sides to remove any residue. Afterwards they were almost as good as new.
