Hi,
I've been seeing people getting upset and even angry with USPS's "tracking".
This is not a tracking number that you get, it is Delivery Confirmation number and it means just what it says. It is useful to the vendor to know when/if packages they sent out are actually delivered to the customers.
If you happen to see it update and it looks like tracking, then great, you're getting something extra, but if it doesn't, then that's just how that system works.
Even the post office people will tell you that delivery confirmation is not tracking.
As someone else posted, the only things important to this method is point of origin and destination.
Just thought I'd clear that up since I keep seeing so many posts and they are misunderstanding what Delivery Confirmation actually is and what it means.
Also, when you go to the USPS.com site, you will see it says Track and CONFIRM. Post Office offers tracking on very expensive types of mailing like Express mail, but not on priority, unless you send a package registered mail, then I think that is trackable.
If you happen to see that the package was scanned and it shows up on the USPS site, then it does lead you to believe it is tracking, but it's not.
