I was expecting a package of parts from madvapes for a mod project and I'm eager to get started. I paid for priority mail in order to get my parts faster. I had been thinking about this all morning at work and couldn't wait to get home and check the mail.

Well, for some unspecified reason, they left a card saying I can go to the downtown post office tomorrow and pick it up. I don't think I will be able to make it tomorrow so it looks like I won't get my parts until Monday.

I was so angry at first I wanted to chew somebody out or file a complaint, but I know I need to settle down and be more patient.

It just doesn't seem right that they get paid extra and I don't get my package any faster.

Sorry, I just needed to vent. I feel a little better now. :)

Take a look at the "Made in China" thread here, You'll feel better about your treatment from the PO after seeing that.

But I can commensurate with you, I've had similar things happen with UPS where there is no chance at all of a Saturday pickup. What's worse, I work at home and saw the truck drive away yet it was marked as "nobody home" but the guy never ever tried the doorbell or to knock, just automatically filled out the slip, stuck it on my door and walked away.

I swear your mail person works in FL too! I've had that happen to me sooo many times.

I went to the PO to get my package and the person behind the counter actually had the balls to say to me "well maybe YOU just didn't hear him knock" when I was almost literally sitting on the other side of the door when he stuck the note on my door.

He must have ninja skills too, the only reason why I looked out the window is the dog jumped up to take a look out it & growled.

Neither here nor there
Why wouldn't they just leave it? Priority mail alone or with delivery confirmation does not require a signature. My packages get put in my mailbox. Sounds like they only gave the mailman the slip, not the package. Who knows? The only time I have to go to the PO is when I have to sign for something.

That's what I don't understand. They always leave my packages in my mailbox or on the porch.

By the way, I'm not angry anymore, just disappointed. I will try to get down there tomorrow after work... if not, I'll pick it up Monday.

I wish I had that problem with the post office. My local post office deemed my house to be vacant because the 1st floor has been emptied for renovation and the post office said they returned my shipments. I have about $150 worth of stuff thats been in limbo for 2+ weeks now. 2 vendors (whom I'll likely NEVER order from again) won't resend my orders until they have them back in their possession even tho tracking says they're being returned. After the time that's passed so far, I'm likely out $150 from 2 very well respected vendors on ECF. 2 others reshipped my orders no questions asked. I wish those missing goods were ordered from Hoogie, I'd prolly have had them a week ago. <sigh>

We get it once in a while also.. Recently we had a great customer's package get returned because the mailperson decided that the address didn;t exist anymore after delivering 20 previous orders.. Very frustrating at times.

But despite the few screwups, USPS has really been great with the majority of our packages, except the one they sent back to China on us despite repeated calls and promises to correct it.. (LR atty shipment) doh...
