I had an order that was picked up from the vendor yesterday and has apparently been sitting at the companies local post office for the past 26 hours with no new activity. The town of origin is 2 hours away from me. Does the postal services tracking system just stink or are they really that slow?

Maybe I expect too much but something that's coming from 2 hours away really should be a next day delivery no matter what shipping option I chose.

Think that is bad....

It takes me about 1 hour to drive to work (all the way across town), 1 hour home.

If I mail a birthday card from the postoffice by my house to my boyfriend's mother, who lives by my office it can take up to 4 DAYS to get to her.

I can also send a card to my mom in Austin, TX in 3 DAYS!

And USPS wonders why they are losing money and no one uses them? Unbelievable!

I've been waiting for a package to arrive that shipped on 8/14. The last activity shown by the USPS tracking is arrival in a city about 3 hours from me (origin was only about 8 hours away) on 8/18. It's been sitting in the same place for a week now. So I called the USPS today and asked about my package. I was told sometimes it takes up to 14 days and that I had to wait until 9/1 to do anything about it. Completely ridiculous.

I ordered on Friday night an ecig package from LeCig and had it here monday morning from USPS...

You have to remember this very important fact of USPS:

The government manages to lose over 4 Billion dollars a year with USPS... If you see how the government runs the main "functions" of itself, it is no wonder that USPS is garbage.

Too bad we don't have Lysander Spooner around anymore eh?

I'm hoping it'll be here tomorrow. I would have chosen a shipping upgrade but I honestly couldn't afford it, my order was pretty much to the penny of what I had available.

I just know now to go for an upgrade when I order from this particular vendor, not due to the vendor but to the postal service in that area.

I once had a letter from health insurance RETURNED to the insurance company. When I found out about it from them, they said the letter had "Return to Sender" stamped on it. I had them fax me a copy so I could fax it on to USPS Headquarters. Nobody at USPS could explain why my local PO refused to deliver it (less than a mile away). It had my correct address on it!

i'm assuming you guys are talking about stuff shipped Priority Mail. the only "tracking" you can get with that is Delivery Confirmation which is not actual tracking (all it has to do is confirm delivery). the only way to get a real tracking number from them is by using Express Mail which is not cheap. i ship stuff via USPS daily so i get a lot of people asking about this.

i rarely have issues when shipping stuff via USPS (either to me or going to someone) and have found them to be much more reliable and easier on packages than UPS or FedEx.

if something is coming from only 2 hours away it should get to you next day. 1st class mail should get it to you next day as well (any package under 13oz can go 1st class). i've ordered a bunch from Tasty Vapor and they're about 40 minutes from me. i always have the package the next day.

The package I'm waiting on is 1st class. My main beef is that it just seems to be sitting there, the last update was 36 hours ago. I've gotten stuff from CA 1st class that showed me what was happening every step of the way. I understand that stuff just takes time sometimes but with labor day weekend coming up I don't want to be left hanging for something that coming from the next state over.
