I agree.
I'm also pretty much baffled by all this bad-mouthing of the USPS, seeing as how they've been laying off people left and right, and get nothing but grief from all sides.
I mean, what idiot decided that the PO was supposed to "pay for itself," anyway? Who decided service should be slashed to ribbons? Good grief. A civilized country supports the post office to facilitate communication and commerce. It's just like highways and bridges; it's not
supposed to make a profit. And before all the cutting and slashing got underway, the PO worked
just fine.
So now that the good old PO is falling apart all those brilliant anti-gubmitt folk will
happily pay three times as much for UPS, right?
