Hey!

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for utilizing the on board buttons on chips. Do you have a button you typically use? Something that sticks out for the user to press, but then it would have to be anchored in place, and when pressed, it also protrudes through the back and pressed the actuator. I know that's how the buttons on a vaporshark work, anyone have a source for those type of buttons?

Appreciate the help.

If you check the announcement video for the dna40 with Brandon, he has a homemade mod in an acryllic tube that has roofing nails for the buttons. Further, Evolv's recommendation for actuators is that they do not slip or slide as to prematurely wear out the switch, misfire etc. Your typical TV remote has all the buttons on a single sheet of silicone or rubber and a slightly different actuator switch technology, and they stay put well and make assembly much easier.

I took all of this to heart and cut and turned some brass nails and set them in a sheet of rubber that holds them all in place and keeps them from moving around while in place. For the fire button I wanted it larger and also adjustable, but it follows the same principal and is in the rubber sheet. The wall of the mod needs to have some depth to it to maintain a straight shot, but that is easy enough. The actual switch provides the springiness and they work quite well.

If you need a lot of them, you could design something for 3D printing. Sourcing can be difficult as they need precise dimensions for the mod.
