Getting the uwell crown and cain't wait, but I'm wondering if 70 watts will be enough for the tank, i'll be using the dual coil .5ohm and maybe the .25ohm if 70 watts is enough. Just looking for some advice before i get a 70watt mod or spend the extra money for 100+watts. If the uwell .5ohm dual coil works well under 70 watts please let me know your experience with the tank!

The crown is the best sub tank thus far. However, until I got the RBA, for me, the arctic tank was number one. First, I make my own juice. My nicotine, flavors, and my liquid are all VG based. When I got the crown using the .5 ohm coils, I was getting dry hits on anything about 40 watts. Using the .25 ohm coils, dry hits anything above 65 watts. Needless to say I was disappointed. Since my arctic tank could handle 100% VG using .2 ohm coils at 80 watts. When you buy juice online or from a vape shop their "max" VG is 80/20. When I went to a 85/15 mix of VG/PG, I had no wicking issues or dry hits. The .25 ohm coil sweet spot, for me, is at 70 watts. The .5 ohm coil sweet spot is around 55 watts. Flavor and vapor product is unreal, and the top fill on the tank is fantastic.

Now the RBA, since I had the wicking issues and dry hits with the coils, I decided to make the juices holes a bit bigger. Using a drill, I was able to increase the surface area by 75%. It took about 10 minutes for the build. I primed the coil, and filled the tank with 100% VG. On my ohm meter my build was .2 ohms. At 50 watts decent vapor and good flavor. At 60 watts great flavor and good vapor. At 70 watts awesome vapor and flavor. Then I went to 100 watts, it was hot, but great flavor and vapor production. On my build, the sweet spot is between 70-75 watts. However, when I am driving, I have to crack the window or I can not see for a few second because the vapor is so thick. The crown is the best tank so far since the sub ohm tank boom last November. Each build has lasted about 8 days.

Meh, I don't use mine above 60 watts or 50 Joules and I only use the .25Ω kanthal heads or the .15Ω Ni20 heads (so you should be golden with the .5Ω).

And let me be the one of the few that says the Ni200 coils for this tank have just supplanted the kanthal heads. Absolutely in love and no higher than 50 J (and 450 F)! Could I use it higher? Sure. Do I need to, to be utterly satisfied? Hell no!

I'm vaping on a Cloupor GT 80 I and the TC .15Ohm Nickel Atty registering at .18Ohm. my liquid is 100% VG, 25% flavorings and 75% VG and Nic Base at 3mg
In the morning when I woke up I vaped at 450'f, then after drinking my cup of tea, I've moved it to 500'F. Generally I'm vaping at 480'f to 500'f.

I'm being patient and when my Atty gives out in 3-4 weeks, I'll try the .25 Ohm non tc atty. Even though I love the TC, I'm not going to stay with it. I have my doubts about the safety of Nickel.

There are many variables,I don't think that they have TC down perfectly and it may vary among APV models. Factors like PWM [ Pulse Width Modulation] may also vary the harshness of the vape. So 450'F on one rig might be different then another rig. Also the Nic Content of your Juice affects harshness, higher the nic the harsher the vape.
At the beginning of installing an Atty it is suggested a break in period. So I'd suggest starting at 380'F on the break in and slowly moving it up to where you find it pleasurable. Taste is subjective.

BTW I am going through voluminous amounts of juice. Thank gosh I DIY, I also had to lower my Nic from 5%to 3%

Recommended wattage for the 0.5 ohm coil is 30-80 watts, and 80-120 watts for the 0.25 ohm coil. IMO, the 0.5 ohm coil desn't perform well under 50 watts. Personally, i'd spring for a 100+ watt device.

Maybe it's because I use mine on an SXmini M-Class with the POWERFU+ setting, but I tried my tank up to 100 watts on other higher-power mods and it tasted no better; frankly, for me, it was more nuanced and enjoyable at 60 watts of no-ramp-time power. Otherwise it was just slow-to-heat, then it got hot and the extra heat provided no extra revelation to the flavor I was vaping. Your experiences may be different, but I wanted to post since the common refrain seemed to be "go higher". It's not wrong per se, just not written in stone.

I been using the SX M as well, I like the .5 ohm coils for some reason.

30-35 watts is plenty for me, any higher is not more enjoyable nor flavorful.

Basically the coils are designed for just about any person's needs and wants. Blast the hell out of them or tootle puff um, they still function fine.

You can get a Sig 150 and 2 Samsung 25R's for $80 from Wake and Vape, that is all you need.

As said the Crown 2.5's shine at 90 watts and that is spot on, the .5 will do fine at 60-70 watts. The .25 can and I have ran to 120 watts chain vaping without a dry hit so don't by a 100 watt mod. New tanks are here that are already capable of cruising on 100 watts so 150-200 is a good wattage to buy. You can also get the IPV3li for about the same price from the same place and there is temp control if you think you want it later.

Don't fret over getting VTC4 or 5's for that matter. I got both coming out of my ears and I still use the Sammy's all the time.
I've never used Wake and Vape. Do you recommend them? I like the way you can bundle all your vape needs in their purchases.

I've been vaping my Crown with the 0.25 ohm dual SS coil for a week now and felt that I should step in and share my opinion on wattage setting. I was initially worried that my Evic VTC Mini 60W couldn't handle the Crown but I seem to enjoy it running at only 37W on VW mode. Sometimes when I feel like it I'll hike it up to 42W just to get a warmer vape with more clouds. Anything beyond 45W I get too strong of a throat hit with the juice I'm running (50-50 PG-VG). I'm really looking forward to give the 0.5 ohm dual coil a try. If you're in the market for a subtank, don't hesitate to get yourself a crown. It's hands down better than my subtank mini by a long shot. With so many coils type to choose from, there's bound to be one that'll sing to you.

Im using the Ni200 crown coils and I'm fiddling with the settings. Anyone know a good temp and wattage setting for these coils?
im using my sigelei 75watt TC and Im have to run it on max 75w to get anything out of the crown coil. I also have an ipv4s and I have been running it on that at 50j seems to be a little better.

Interesting to hear your artic could handle full VG, I know for sure mine couldn't even handle 90:10 at all, didn't get dry hits but my 0.2 coils would last only a couple days (vaping at 60w) do you know if the crown 0.25 coils (stock) can handle 90:10 juice?

Yes, the Crown coils can handle 90 VG.
