Steve has said that the bottom button was first designed for the Protege, but running out of stock on the V2 moved the V3 up to first. Look for a bottom button Protege on the horizon.

BTW: The V3 will stand up on end, unlocked and not fire as long as it has the heavier spring. This is not the case with the lighter spring that will ship standard with the V3.

If the V1 and the V2 have the same quality brass, why is the V2 the only one I have read about having stripping problems? I would assume that the different 510 atties would be used on both, so why a problem with only one?

ETA: If you know that there is a problem with the V2 (ie: brass being stripped) then why would you charge someone to 'upgrade' to a better metal? I'm sorry but I don't think this is the best customer service. It seems to me that you are trying to cover up the mistakes on the V2 with the V3. Just saying....

The bottom button should be a lot more dependable than their other button designs. I just wish you could vape at 3.7v and 5v.

Actually it can... you could run a 16340 and a dummy battery.

The bottom button isn't as hard to get use to as you think. I have a few of the Super-T bottom button machines and it's a lot more natural than I thought it would be.

I'd just like to see them cut it in half and have it run one single 16340. That deals with the weight of the stainless and eliminates having to run a dummy.
LR attys and a single batt is just so much easier and safer for most people. It's the battery stacking that gets people in trouble with the lipos venting and gassing.

The button is the exact same design / concept as the GG Slim with the spin down locking ring derlin center and topper.

I would have hoped for a little more design originality from PS.
First they're copying the T-Tips and now the GG Slim..

Maybe we can buy a Rolex copy in a few weeks..

Ya I love my Prodigy V1 , but I think the V3 is a mistake only being straight power 3.7 or 6 volts the best thing about the prodigy was the 5v sweet spot the 6v just is too much power and you then need more expensive HV atomizers to get the 5v . I also agree with the originality comment make something better !! add a 4 in 1 atomizer connection , selling adapters and then having to change them out is a pain in the .... and a added cost which is not needed , design a new way of producing 5v come on Steve get creative you need to vape something green and herbal .

Thanks but no thanks. Still enjoying my V1. The original V1 switch still works better than the V2 switch and won't go off in my pocket. My V2 sits in a drawer now as backup. Less than thrilled with the switch on that one.

Did you "upgrade" to the new SS switch? It's way better. Still needs a dab of Oxguard, but works and is built far better than the original.

As I've said before, I'm not giving up on PS just yet, but my experience with the V2 can only be described as sub-standard. I'm getting an SS adapter for it this week, and that's the last dime I'm spending on this thing. I'll probably be skipping the V3, unless I see some sparkling reviews of the device and no complaints about problems like the V2 had. I agree that, so far, the V1 is in a class by itself. I still use mine and it still has the original switch. I've never replaced a single part on it. It just works. I truly wish I could have been able to say that about the V2.

I'M RIGHT HERE
i own 2 Prodigy V-1. One was a pre-order, the second was bought for my brother,to bad he went back to tobaccoo. have owned both a year or so now, the pre-order V-1 that got lots of use & mild abuse has quit. thats not bad , i never had a problem with it. i contact PS, we tried a couple things , no go. so it is in the mail on its way to PS for service. i am quite sure they will fix me up and my unit will be back in working order soon.
i did not purchase a V-2, cause i had 2 V-1's, they have worked well and with the PS extended warranty options i expect them to do their job for years to come.
i have reservations about the V-3, the bottom button, and the 3.7 or 6 volt operation. i think i can deal with the bottom button, but i thought 5 volts was the sweet spot? am i gonna have to get expensive LR atty's? i am used to buying the 4.50 to 5$ atty's.

Haven't tried the SS switch. I did receive the new O ring and stainless posts. My V2 works fine when the contacts are clean. Just seems like my V1s work better. The V1 switch is definitly better. Also, it seems the V2 runs a bit hotter so it has less flavor.

I'm not giving up on PS either. Just seems like the beta testing and quality control have gone down hill. I remember when Steve would personally test each unit and even charge the batteries for you. Those days are long gone. Good luck getting repairs when all Steve's V1 parts are gone.

PS sells LR attys for the same price as regular attys. 25 or more = $5.00 ea.
