I 'm thinking about buying a V4L KR808D.

Can somebody give me a ballpark idea of the basic cost of this ecig compared to regular cigs. Is it more expensive or cheaper.
I get a carton of cigarettes (10 packs) now for $36.

How long does 1 cartomizer last? Is it equal to 1 pack of cigarettes?
How long does 1 battery last before it needs a recharge?
How many times can you recharge a battery before it wears out?

Are there any V4L discount coupons on the e-cigarette forum I can use?

Thanks

Price it out at Vapor4Life:: Because it's your life :: Electronic Cigarettes & Alternatives to Smoking do you plan on refilling because that lowers your cost a great deal.

How long does 1 cartomizer last? Is it equal to 1 pack of cigarettes? I'd say more like 3/4 of a pack.
How long does 1 battery last before it needs a recharge? depends on the battery size you order.
How many times can you recharge a battery before it wears out? 300+

Are there any V4L discount coupons on the e-cigarette forum I can use? Big sale going on until Friday better read the thread! Standard ten percent discount code is SMILIN

Thanks

Take some time and read up on what you are getting, tons of information here.

Glad to see you found the place costeve! These folks are very helpful!

Right now there is a huge thanksgiving sale, 10-30% off, depending on how much you spend, hows that for savings?

The carto's last me all day with fairly heavy vaping. I smoked a pack plus a day.

I am setting up to refill my carto's, five carto's $9, 20ml of juice, $10, each carto can be refilled 15ish times, and 20ml will fil a lot of carto's.

Initially it's going to cost a lot, there is no geting around that with any of these kits, but I think this is the most cost effective route. No more having to buy atomizers and worry about loosing them.
And the customer service just blows everyone away!

Hi Costeve,

Welcome! Good to see another Coloradoan in here.

Your cig cost is comparable to what I used to pay ($35/carton), so I can reassure you that vaping is definitely cheaper than smoking.

I use around 1.5-2 cartomizers/day, but I used a little more than that when I first started vaping. I started with the 901 model, but I got really frustrated with all the dripping, filling, dropping, and just general fussing around that it required.

Then I discovered the 2-piece (battery and cartomizer). Cartomizers are the way to go -- just screw it onto the battery and vape. To stretch the budget, you can refill them (several members here have refilled them 10-20 times). But I like the ease of use and the convenience of just screwing on a new one.

Cost: This will vary depending on your upfront costs. If you want to take a barebones approach, just get a couple of batteries and a charger (one battery to use and one on the charger). You can always add more batteries/accessories later after you determine that you really like this. But I highly recommend getting one of the kits, since they all include a free box of cartomizers to try (and you can select the flavor and strength).

For the cartomizers, a box of 5 here at V4L is $12.50, but you always get a 10% discount (coupon code SMILIN), so the actual cost per new cartomizer is $2.25 each. As a previous 2-pack/day smoker, I usually use 1.5-2 cartomizers per day (that's $4.50 vs. the $7.00 I paid for cigarettes). Shipping is by Priority Mail ($6.95 for most of us), so it's more cost-effective to place larger orders rather than smaller ones to help on the shipping costs if that's an issue for you. I'd also like to add that even though other suppliers sell the cartos a little cheaper, the ones from V4L seem to last a lot longer IMO.

The customer service here is outstanding, and Steve always throws some free "extras" into each order. Feel free to read through this subforum, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Again, welcome to the forum and welcome to this subforum!

Thanks for the info Moonstruck - very helpful. Good to see a fellow Coloradan in here. In your post you mentioned having 2 batteries - 1 you're using and leaving the 2nd on a charger. My question is - Do you have to keep all extra batteries on a charger all the time? They come fully charged - so if you haven't used it yet, why would you have to keep it on a charger? Will an unused battery drain just by sitting on a table? Also - if you have a fully charged battery - wouldn't it hurt the battery to to keep it on a charger? Wouldn't it burn the battery out by overcharging it?

So far I've managed to go through the day on one regular battery, the new single logo ones. With the PCC you can keep an extra in there, charging or not, and have the extra with you. One goes dead, take the one in the PCC out and set the dead one up to charge. I charge the same battery overnight, been working great for me so far! I also trt to charge the PCC each night, just because, just in case.

Lion batts have no memory, and the chargers are "smart" they sense when the batts are full and just "trickle charge" them to keep them full. Theoreticly, you could leave them on for as long as you like with no problems. Leaving them set off the charger, the drainage is minimal at most.
So two batts should be plenty for now, which was my initial setup. But I don't think you will end up with just two if you order from V4L, trust me:lol:

Hi Costeve and welcome. It may cost you a little more for startup kit here, but it will be well spent money. If you get yourself an ultimate ultimatum kit you will have everything you need to start out with but make sure you get some juice to top off your cartomizers with. You will be SMILIN just like all of us! Good luck!
