Oh boy! I just love these contests. Done about 12 different trips this summer. May take me a while to get all the pics up. lol. Here are my first pictures from burning man this year! Just got back about 4 days ago. As always it was such a blast and an absolutely incredible experience! I have way way too many pictures from this event to post them all, so if you're bored check out the link below to see the rest of them.

Here is me and the lady hanging out at an art installation in deep playa. I got the Palace parked in the back ground on this one.

Here is this years temple. It was absolutely beautiful! I have never visited anywhere in my entire life that has such a solemn energy to it. The temple this year was 120 feet tall and was the 3rd largest wooden structure in the world, before we burned it.

Here's a really awesome mechanical octopus art car. All of the legs moved up and down, the eyes popped out, and the jaws all opened and closed. It was something to see at night. All of the arms had huge flame throwers in them and well as in the top of the head.

The man finally burns bringing one incredible experience to an end. Can't wait to do it again next year!

Ok few more pictures. These couple of pics are from an event that took place up in the colorado mountains outside of Bailey. The event is called Apogaea and its basically an off shoot of burning man. Same rules and vibe, but smaller and a lot more intimate.

Here is our camp this year at Apogaea. We had a volcano(with smoke and fire effects) with a dj booth in it, 10,000 watts of sound, and 5 flame throwers all around the camp.

Here's me chilling with my friend and the gold santa. He's pretty much an Apogaea icon!

Here is our effigy for Apogaea, yeah we like to light stuff on fire.

Here are some photos from a similar event called Flipside that is held just outside of Austin, TX. This years theme was "Bad Idea."

Here's me stiltwalking up at the greeters station welcoming people into the event.

These two tesla coils were connected to a piano. They varied the frequency of electricity going through the coils to create different tones. They also had a full band backing up the tesla coils. Definitely made for an awesome concert.

A few weeks back, I took my kids on a day trip to Lost River Gorge in the White Mountains. It's just a couple of hours away, and we'd never been there before. So, we headed north and spent several hours exploring caves, walking the trails, and being surrounded by general awesomeness.

This is the three of us in silhouette, reflected in the super-clear water below while standing on a bridge.

One of the most visible highlights was this 30-foot waterfall, located deep down in the gorge.

The kids, (ages 12 and 8), really loved climbing around in all the caves.

Here they are, emerging from another cave.

As soon as they spotted it, they scrambled up this bench and started taking pictures of the view.

The view from the bench.

After a four-hour round trip in the car, and about five hours walking and exploring in the woods, we all slept well that night. :D

Norry - What is zip lining?

They hook you up in a harness and then you climb up into some really TALL trees. There are cables strung between the trees and you hook on and fly through the air. We even "flew" over some canyons. At one point we were flying at about 30 mph. It was a rush and sooooo fun!
