Just got my first one...and it's also my first side hole fill tank. AWESOME! I got the polypropylene type (budget and wanted to check it out before committing much money). I am impressed...and very happy. I'll be getting more of these...and probably some Pyrex ones, too! Ray seems like a great guy! Okay..so here's the question (probably answered elsewhere, but thought I'd ask anyway). These have grommets for end caps. They are kinda hard to get on and then get the carto in them. Wondered if anyone had any tips or "systems" that work well for assembling these guys with the carto into the tube? I muddled through, but I'm sure there has to be a better way!
TIA!

Glad to see you're liking these. Just ordered some from them as well. How long did it take for you to receive them in the mail?

I ordered late last Friday, and they arrived today. It was in town yesterday, but I guess it missed the final sorting at my local hub. That's okay. It's here now. I know he makes them "custom" when orders are made, so I think it was pretty good time.

Ray has aluminum caps for the polypro tanks also. They're about $10 for a set.

I saw that, and will probably order a set or two...next time I get a check! The grommets are okay though. I did find an instruction thingy on the Valley View site and it helped. I don't mind the grommets. they are kinda cool, really. And I know I'll be getting more tanks from Ray.

I'll check out what Rocketpunk says now!

Your buddy RocketPunk got one of those and gave his thoughts.

Okay...read the thread. Poor Rocket. Definitely user error. I didn't have those issues, but quickly figured out to put the grommet on the carto first, bottom one, then insert it into tube and ease it in evenly all around, then put the top grommet on the top and "tease" it in with my fingers/fingernails. Did much better my second try, and did learn to dampen the grommets center hole and outside with a little juice. Helps! Second try I got everything assembled perfectly and did it in a mere minute or two! lol!

I don't have other people punch my cartomizers. Not even the manufacturers. I do a much better job, and my cartos don't gurgle, or make a loud crackling noise (just a little "sssssss" sound of a happy coil). Vaping loveliness!

To change cartos...I suck the juice out with a syringe and needle (easy peasy). then I push the carto with a SYM type drip tip (a long drip tip made for that somewhatl like the Stiletto mentioned in the thread. wasn't hard for me. Of course I kept a paper napkin under things in case there were a few drops that got missed by the syringe and dropped out!

Glad to hear you are enjoying them. I learned to "put up" with the ones I had, but as I said in the other thread as soon as Ray began offering the traditional endcaps, I was first in line.

I guess I've gotten set in my ways, and I just like tanks with endcaps and o-rings. :D I still have a couple grommet tanks from High Desert Vapes (my frog tank is one of them), and those grommets work just like an end cap does...the carto fits snug but can easily be removed for refilling or carto exchange.

I just got one as well. Love it compared to the Vivi Novas. Much more consistent vape. Only bummer for me is that I ordered the tool today and discovered I don't need it to replace the cartomizers. I don't need the fill hole either. You can just push down the cartomizer in the tank after you prime it and easily fill it that way instead of using the fill hole. With the fill hole you need a syringe or buy the special needle bottle from the site. So I wish I ordered one without the screw and didn't spend money on the tool. Only negative for me but otherwise I wish I had bought these instead of my vivi novas. Excellent vape.

PS. I ordered the ones with the aluminum caps. Don't know what the gromits would be like.

I love these tanks great price, idk but you might be able to get him to make you one without the hole on the side too (i would think it would be less work for him depending on how he makes them) but i made a user error too the inner silicone o rings are delecate in the fact that when i inserted the carto it cut a chunk out of the o ring i was scared i ruined it but it doesnt leak at all the silicone o rings kick ..... But the metal caps are the best you just need a slim drip tip or a carto tank tool like a SYM my next order will be a tank tool some o rings and another tank lol but if you get the metal caps use a tool or a drip tip or you could mess up the o ring. For the price, build quality and ease of use all i use now are these tanks my RBA and once in a blur moon a T3
I am one of the people that HATE ViVi Novas no matter what i do (i have 2, old and new version) different heads rebuild the heads tild the thing so its almost upside down and i still get dry harsh terrible hits all the time. ViVi Novas must HATE me too

Vivi novas are good about 50% of the time. They are just too finicky. They got on my nerves which is why I ordered a triple v.

I bought the tool. Haven't noticed problems with the o ring but I guess it's good I have the tool in case. The cartomizers seem to slip in and out pretty easy. I didn't have a syringe so to fill I just slide it about 1/3rd the way down and fill from the atomizer side. It seems to work fine.

Big fan of these tanks; they're a great value for the money. The polypros are very, very good. The pyrex are even better. The nice thing about grommets is that they keep the cartomizer snug, which is great for people that pocket their mods. The only thing I don't like about them is that they can retain the smell of some juices; a long soak in cheap vodka seems to take care of that. Most people find that the aluminum caps are easier to deal with and look better.

I've been using carto tanks with the aluminum caps for a long long time now...and I do like them. I have an assortment. What I like about the Triple V is the side hole thing (again...I got the polypro basic model this time due to budget considerations until I could check out the system, if it was right for ME). I have no trouble sliding the tank up and using a SYM or tank refilling tool with the other commercially available tanks, but I was thinking the side hole might make life REALLY easy for me. And it does.

I always have a needle bottle with me. That is what I carry my juice in everywhere. So right there...I'm ready for the side hole fill. I noted that you can get a set of grommets and O rings easy at Valley View...so one could "color co-ordinate" If I was inclined to change flavors a lot, I'm not...but did note that (flavor absorption into the grommet issue). I like the cartos do not slide with the grommet. That is a plus in my book. These side hole types with the grommets are working out well for me, so far! (I'll continue to use my F16s, SMOK and other tanks too, of course)

No..it's not the prettiest, but the price is killer, I'm impressed and happy with the quality. Actually, I'm getting where I rather like the look. Streamlined and basic. Not bad! I think the pyrex with the grommets look sweet too...going to get one of those next, I think! Well...when they are back in stock, of course!
