This is really a great little punch. Back when I was still punching all the cartos I sold by hand, this is what I used.
The idea came from a fellow ECF'er Markfm.

Well - I'm getting the 4ml Pyrex tanks and I need to keep flavor & TH going . . . AND - In reality I also NEED to keep this real simple . . . So - I am getting the "Pre-punched" Boge from "Ray" . . . Given this and since I do not want to keep bothering "Ray" - I need suggestions people - 35mm or XL and SR or LR for VV/VW . . . Also - I have a very simple hole "screw" style hole punch someone gave me that I have never used yet - should I get the one from "Ray" or do I really NEED to since these will be "pre-punched" . . . Thanks :D

I use 2ohm cartos on non-VV/VW devices. On a VV/VW device I don't really care what the resistance of the carto is, for obvious reasons.

I have to punch my own cartos. The laser punched holes don't wick the 100% VG e-liquids that I use unless I thin them, which I only do with a couple of flavors. I had a couple of boxes of laser punched cartos, I carefully punched the same holes myself to widen them to fit my needs. I need 2 holes for the all VG liquids. I've been using a bullet piercing valve to punch the holes, but the tip is going to get dull pretty soon and there is no way to get a new piercing screw for it. Ray's cartopunch tool is quite the bargain, especially since it comes with an extra piercing screw. Like most punch tools (other than saddle valves) it surrounds the carto completely, so it shouldn't deform the carto much at all. I have one in my cart, waiting for midnight.:)

I tried using a Dremmel tool to cut a slot in a carto once. Even though I barely cut through the metal it tasted like metal and I had to toss that one. It can be done, plenty have pulled it off. If that's all you have on hand and really need a carto punched, give it a try.

My carto's holes are punched in the same place as the laser punched cartos, 2-3 mm above the bottom cap on the inside. I've never worried about getting the last few drops out of the tank. When the tank needs cleaning, I dump the last few drops into an atomizer or down the drain. A dead carto is a waste of e-liquid too, these things will happen.

So Uncle your getting the Sidewinder 4ml tanks?

Actually - I was debating about getting them - So far, although I have only 1 "sidewinder" - I have only used 2 of the regular Pyrex Tank I got previously and have only refilled them twice using the "Filler Tool" I have . . . Haven't had to change a carto or clean them yet and that is only because I do not Vape all the time yet either  and I am still trying out different flavors by using dripping . . . ;)

AND - Untill I find either "My" ADV or other "E-Liquids" I know I will be Vapping all day - I am holding off filling any more tanks and/or wasting Carto's like I have before when I found I didn;t like the flavor or thought it was disjusting . . . ;)

So - I would ask some of the regulars what their preferences are to get a better idea which is easier or better . . .

EDIT: BTW - My hesitation is only because I haven't been able to justify the actuall additional cost of getting the Pyrex Sidewinder . . . Now as for the Polypropylene Sidewinder - You can't beat that price and I do have one of those that I have been using too, just haven't found a need to clean it yet . . . :D

The 3ml, 4ml and 5ml tanks all use the 35mm carto. The "tall" tanks, the 6ml, 7ml and 8ml use the XL size carto.

I didn't have time to reply in the last contest thread, but I didn't forget. Thanks for all the tips on painting the pyrex tanks!

I'm aware of most of the methods, I worked with art glass for years. The only paints we used had to be baked on in a kiln, for what I'm planning on doing that would be way too much work (and I don't have a kiln). I'm afraid that any paint that is not baked on would come off sooner or later. Since I clean my vaping devices with boiling water and/or grain alcohol, unbaked paints would come off quickly. I have access to a sandblaster, but it's buried in the back of the shop and not worth the trouble for just a couple of tanks. Etching cream looks like the best and most economical solution.

Now to pick a design. Too bad Ray doesn't have a VVV logo, although the star would work good enough.
