I can't stand Windows, MicroSoft, etc.... in fact, Bill Gates is the Devil! However, I do have to say that Microsoft Security Essentials does a nice job - even with all the Russian porn sites I visit, I have remained disease free. :w00t:

As much as I dislike his behavior in the 80s/90s, he's become a huge philanthropist. Over $28 billion and counting..

for the Twist, which was my first VV. I have read that people will but a small drop of clear nail polish on the dial so that they can locate different volts withour looking. just an idea :)

2) ah, I feel the same as you with the batteries. Just probably because I don't know enough about such things. I have an ego twist, so the battery is enclosed. Makes me feel safer and Yes I tell ya, I love it, but only thing I don't like is the numbers are soooo darn small so to see where you have it set is hard. But it does vape really well with a t3 clearomizer. You should try those if you haven't already. They have such gooooooood vapor and FLAVOR! They are my new favorite and the very best I have tried so far!!
I was thinking the same thing! But it looks like she preemptively announced a several day MIA.

I am not a fan of Macs. Why, oh... i dont really know. they feel foreign and i am resistant to change, even to my detriment. maybe, eventually i will hop on the mac train. but i will NEVER own an iPhone.

so, so far I have been recommended Spybot and cCleaner. Would just these two be sufficient? I remember using Adaware a while back and thoughts on it?

Good morning brethren!

Got Wifey's computer to start running. But it is infected with tons of adware/spyware/bloatware and potential viruses.
what is the best, super easy to use and free program to remove and rehabilitate this annoying/debilitating affliction?

Is AVG still free?

They do have a free version that i have on my cpu, i feel that is does some unnecessary things, but i continue to use it. I dont know how much protection I really get from it, but as free goes, i hear its the best? i also run Avast, which as of late has been flooding my computer with reregister popups. time to uninstall it...

Is AVG still free?

I'm thinking about cutting the leads really short and soldering them on a 510 connector hot glued into a hole through a piece of wood. At least that way I would have a stand for holding the atty while attaching and testing the coil. Plausible?

Edit: Subtracting 1.6 ohms to get a reading is not that bad, it is consistent on all my cartos, coils, and other heads. It must be the wire material in the cheap leads. That's not my only issue with using a multimeter. Holding an RBA while holding leads to it is a large part of the reason that $20 ohms checkers exist, and why there are never in stock anywhere for long. I'm going to cut and solder the leads on a wooden block mounted connector Thursday when I'm off work.

ReEdit: Leads cut to 4 inches with exposed wires twisted together gives a solid .5 ohms reading. It might be the multimeter, but consistency is the only important thing.
That is what I did>>>>> works like a charm.. After I received a pack of Phoenixs' and they wouldn't work on one of my mods. I find it difficult to hold the cart & both ends of the multi-meter, so I took a spare connector & cut the wires shorter & soldered it on. Now all I do is screw it in and voila there is my ohms. After I shipped the non working ones back, I received new ones and just because they were not in a package, I wanted to make sure they were 2.6-2.8 not the lower ones I figured I would try this. If it didn't work I was going to reconnect some alligator clamps instead of the posts, easier to do with only one hand.

I'm a big Linux guy, but Mac gives me a desktop I can use (and secure) combined with the Linux-style underpinnings for real work. (Using 2 desktops/spaces right now. This one has 4 chrome windows and 6 terminals. The work one has 2 chrome and 2 terminals, since I have to connect in remotely. Those terminals are multiplexed though, so each one is equivalent to 3-5 windows..)

#3 Its not just a matter of preference when you're talking about viruses. Mac and Linux have a fraction of the known viruses and malware that Microsoft programs do. Yes, the user interface is better and easier to use with Microsoft products. But Mac and Linux is safer over the long haul and requires far less infection management.

I enjoy having both an I pad and a laptop.. Laptop is due for an upgrade though.. I'm hoping for at least 6gb ram at least, but I'm cheap, when I wait something decent usually pops up at a reasonable price.. Speaking of old laptops... some of the vaping shows I watch, they mentioned you can crack open old laptop batteries and get 18650's!
