So, tapping away on my laptop and my Vamo 2 with kanger protank falls, rolls of the edge of the table, and hits the floor. The threaded sleeve on the kanger broke off inside the Vamo. Anyone know of a way to get it unscrewed from inside there? There is nothing to grab. Turns out the threaded part on a kanger tank is actually a sleeve that is pressed on. Anyone ever have this happen or have an idea how to get it out?

I already ordered another Vamo, but thought it would be nice to have a spare if I can get the threaded piece out.

Yeah, my daughter did this. It will just unscrew. If it was not over tightened, you can do it with the finger tip and just twist it out. Otherwise, some needle nose pliers will get it out, one way or another. Once it starts to twist out, you'll see it's a piece of cake. The "sleeve" you mention is actually the base of the Protank, or I've seen the atty break off in there as well. Good luck.

First, take out the battery. Then try to take a slightly larger Philips screw driver and push it into the whole of the thread pipe and see if you can screw it out with it.
Or try it with a needle nose pliers. Just will take a little patience and playing with, but it should be able to be done.

I did this too, but it rolled off the top of my car. Will never place it there again, when I'm getting something out of the car....

I used tweezers, like those tweezers you use to pick something. You can find them in beauty kits, with toe nail clippers, but the tweezers is what you need. It came out easy. you can also buy just the base of the Protank from some sites too, like 2 bucks.

Oh and do take out the battery before you start.

Thanks for the responses. There isn't any lip to grab and twist it. It's broken down inside. I did try some needle nose, spreading them against the walls to try and gain purchase but that doesn't work either. Nor, pressing down on the top edge with needle nose. I guess I can try the philips screw driver idea.

Where can I get a tank support? Sounds like a great idea.

I use one of those on my vamo, if you don't want to wait for FT most US suppliers carry them also. It goes on the ego threads and make sure your tanks screw down far enough to make contact with it. It takes alot of stress off the 510 connector as the tank gets wiggled. With a vamo this is a good idea as the threading on the 510 connector is a known weak spot with them.

That is a good idea. Does anyone have one of these and the VAMO V3? I'm wondering if the support fits inside the removable collar on top of it. If it did it wouldn't really take away from the aesthetics of the VAMO at all.

Definitely use the adapter mentioned earlier. The small thread pro-tanks are known for snapping off, for some stupid reason the adapter isn't part of the Protank1 or 2 kits. The vape shop near me was quite perplexed on how they managed to screw that idea up not just once, but twice.

This happened to me a couple nights ago. Had it in my breast pocket, bent over, and the ProTank shot off when it hit the floor.

Question: I have a SmokTech SID, where the removable collar sits flush against the base of the ProTank. Would a support collar still be advantageous to protecting it from snapping?

If it mounts flush on the SID It probably wouldn't serve much of a purpose, at least that's my guess. The 510 connection on my VAMO V3 is actually raised up above the collar so it's not possible to flush mount, so I'm considering buying one of those support pieces.

I actually use the eGo beauty ring that came with my Protank (1) on my VAMO with the removable collar on it as well. I loosen the beauty ring just enough so that it is just above the height of the 510 connection, so when I screw in an RDA or my Protank the beauty ring actually locks the tank in place. It definitely supports the tank much better, but it doesn't look great.

You can tighten the top collar against the bottom of you protank, Viva Nova or what ever else you have attached to give the extra support. This is what I do with my SID. Of course the SID has air passages in the in the top collar which is required to use this method on some tanks.

I use one of the small EGO battery beauty rings on my Vamo version 2 to support my protank and by adjusting it up or down I can position the wick on my RSST exactly where I want it in relation to the fire button. Works great.

You could try a chunk of a raw potato kinda carved where it will fill the gap but still have enough to grab on. I wouldn't press down much.
Take your battery out & good luck. Hopefully you didn't tighten it down too much. If it works it will probably take a few tries.

Ended up ordering this https://www.myvaporstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=EGO-CDCT from myvaporstore after contacting them. Should arrive soon and will post how it goes.

As for the threaded piece stuck in the vamo, it's a no go. Nothing I tried worked on getting it out. I received my new vamo already, so simply tossed the old one. Lesson learned.

Sorry you tossed it already, I was going to suggest using something like these: Sears.com

Not sure it would be worth the purchase just to fix the VAMO, but I used to have these and they worked great for removing stripped screws. Maybe they would work for removing broken posts from 510 connections too.
