Just buy the battery compartment from FT (be prepared to wait, typhoon, customs backups), stainless steel recommended so plating doesnt wear off, less fingerprints, minimizes spiral design.

and get the batteries from someone like RTD Vapor (AW's or Efests highly recommended) or directly from efest if patient.

RTD Vapor AW Batteries

and grab a nitecore i4 off ebay or from FT when you get the Vamo.

I own all of them, they all are quite nice. In addition to the vamo you could also consider an Innokin SVD from FT, also a very good unit.

Those grey Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries are a hybrid/IMR battery and a pretty good battery. The Vamo is a regulated (VV-VW) device that uses boost circuitry, so it needs IMR high drain batteries. Below are the name brand batteries I recommend for use:

AW IMR
18650 2000mah
18650 1600mah

Panasonic or Orbtronic hybrid
CGR18650CH (IMR/Li Ion hybrid) 2250mAh
NCR18650PD (high drain-high capacity) 2900mAh

Samsung hybrid (LiNiCoMnP)
INR18650-20R 2000mah

MNKE IMR
IMR18650 1500mah

Sony IMR
us18650v3 IMR 2250mAh

EFEST IMR
18650 2000mah 10A

AW IMR
18490 (1100mah)

AW IMR
18350 (700mah)

Efest IMR
18350 (800mah)

I prefer the vamo 2. Have 3 of them- well used to be 4 till one flew out of my hand and took a nosedive to the concrete. I just had 2 orders process through SFO from there with juice and 4 18650 batteries so things are beginning to move. Be prepared to wait 3 weeks these days with the customs problems. This is the one I just got and no problems so far. You can always get a wrap which I usually do to personalize it.

I agree with Klynnn I perfer my VAMO 2 to the VAMO 3 looks wise. The VAMO 3 has the nice OLED screen which is a plus in my book but I always find myself running to my VAMO 2. One other thing the Ohm meter on the VAMO 3 is a little more accurate, good luck with the shipping I am still waiting on an order from 8/15 :( from Fasttech myself.
