vamo 510 threads

Just got back with my 6ml smoktech carto tank all excited to use it and it wont screw down =-(
No idea what's up with this.. I have a V2 and V5, and both seem to have pretty solid threading. How long have you had your Vamo? You can always try an adapter, though. Though, if I had just bought it, I'd contact the vendor and see if I could switch it out. No sense in keeping a product you can't really use....
vamo's are pretty notorious for having weak threading.
Best to get an airflow controller. I think I heard a trick with tinfoil in the connection and then screwing in a 510 to 510 adapter and leaving the adapter on.

Ive had it for a month or so, it was kinda iffy from the box but I was a fool and just kept using it. Maybe an ego to 510 adaptor?
hmmm, ill have to do some looking and fiddling. Its driving me nuts
Its so different the carto connector fits inside my 510 threading without even touching really. Its just super small compared to the inside threading on the vamo
Ok, stopped in at a vape shop and the guy busted out a ball ping hammer, took 3 little taps around the top of my vamo and the 510s are good now!
Got to love precision adjustments.

love the vamo, but have to say their 510 threading is the worst ive seen on a mod thusfar. i just threw a brand new stainless v2 into the drawer because the threads .....ed up first thing. i put a brand new protank on it (ORDERED IT WITH THE VAMO, BOTH NEW) slapped a battery in it, vaped for about 10 min total, bumped it (didnt drop it or slam it, bumped it on my leg) and the tank popped right off and wouldnt screw back on at all. all every tank ive got now does is just spin in the 510, cant catch a thread. cant catch a thread on a brand new air flow regulator either. same time of ..... over time with the evics also. if you change tanks often the chrome plated brass threads in this junk will wear out fast. id pay an extra 20 bucks a pop on mods just to have one with actual stainless steel threads.
ive noticed that it seems every mod ive gotten sofar that the 510 threads are crappy.quite some time ago i started buying air flow regulators and putting them on my mods when new before even threading a tank on. i just happened to not have one with the new vamo. my bad. i wish these manufactures would build a quality product.

I have seen that described on here as a selling point for a Provari.
Good luck with this. Many drippers and cheaper 510 devices have horrible QC and undersized threading. This works to quickly eat away at the softer metal used in China mods.
Not knocking the Mods, I have 2 eVic and love them. You have to take special measures to protect the threading though.
I either use Ego threaded devices or place a Tank support into the Ego threads to support any 510 tanks. Stops the wobble and makes the tank sit solid.
If the threads are already worn, you will need an Air flow adapter and hope it threads in solid.

I buy a 510 to ego adapter for all my chinese mods and use them from day one. My tanks sit a little higher but I use the protank beauty rings and it works pretty good. Have not had any thread problems yet.
You could get eGo threaded clearomizers, I got a few from FT and they screw down very nugly with minimal wobble and saves my 510 threads (if they haven't already been stripped out)

I had the same problem
It was worse with the rda's
that's why I got the provari even though it was above my budget at the time
the provari has been amazing
I can no longer use it with 510 adaptor to check ohm on my rda's either
I still use the vamo for carto tanks which wobble

Can't blame all VAMOs. Unfortunately some are made more sturdy than others. There's also no way to tell what came from where. Maybe there is, but I don't know how.
