Greetings,

I currently have a Vamo V2 en route from fasttech. I ordered the SS Vamo that comes with the Nitecore I2 US battery charger and includes 2 Panasonic 18650 batteries. https://www.fasttech.com/products/1359402

My main reason for ordering the VAMO is for ability to have more battery life. I was curious to know how long I expect each of these 18650 batteries to last? Will I need more than 2 to be able to vape all day? I currently lose battery life on my eGo VV2 in a couple hours of heavy vaping.

Also, I am considering getting a couple 18350 as well to be able to decrease the size of my Vamo. I am assuming the 18350 have less battery life, but I wanted ideas on where I could find a couple that would give me the best charge and obviously meet the safety requirements of a battery.

Thirdly, will the Nitecore charger fit both 18650 and 18350 batteries or will I need another charger?

Thanks for your help,

Nice choice with the Vamo V2. I got one from FastTech a couple of weeks ago. I can get about 6 hours out of my 18350 battery and around 12 to 14 hours out of my 18650 battery. I have 4 18350's and 2 18650's That keeps me good for a couple of days. And yes the Nitecore charger will charge both.

Here are the 18350's I bought and use now. Batteries : Efest IMR 18350 Button Top

One 18650 should last you all day no problem. I ordered the same kit from fasttech. Stainless steel version of Vamo is the way to go.

I vape all day during the work (solo office for the win), and more when I get home. It can last the next day noon. I will get 2 or 4 more just for future sake. Since the panasonic battery is the only one I have, I can't commend on the efest battery.

Do you notice a big difference in size from the 18650 and the 18350? The smaller size sounds good for public vaping, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice battery life. It's a catch 22, I want to make it smaller when in public to carry but that is exactly the time when I need to have the most battery life

18650 mode adds roughly 35mm in length and gives you around 3 times the vape time.
I usually carry and extra battery (in a case) with me out and about in short mode.

I have both AW and Efest 18350s and get 30-60 minutes more vape time on my AW's.

The part you take out to make it mini is 30mm or 1 3/16". It felt really nice in hand but my efest 18350 battery is on route to me so I don't know the battery live on it just yet. My plan is to have it during the work time but we will see if it will last that long. I'll keep you post it.

With protected AW 18650's (2600mAh) I get at least 2 days out of each of them and they are still at about 3.8v (Pila charger charges to 4.12v). These are NOT the IMR batts, true Li-Ions. That is burning through about 3ml per day using a Kanger Protank at 2.2 ohms but only running at about 6 watts. Grape juice doesn't like more than that.

The truth is, it's all going to depend upon your vaping habits. As you can already see by some of these posts everyone gets a different amount of vape time from their batteries. Some get 12 hours or less, some get a day, some get up to 2 days. If you vape heavily at high voltage or wattage, you're going to drain a battery much faster than casual or moderate vaping at lower voltage or wattage. Personally, I drain a full charge 18650 by noon (that's 8 hours of awake/vaping time) and switch out to a fresh battery. I usually don't drain that one by bed time because I don't vape nearly as heavily at home as I do at work.

I'm a heavy vaper and my Efest 18650 lasts about 11 - 12 hours. Two 18350's will last about 10 - 11 hours. One 18350 will last about 4 hours.

I just got my Vamo and the 18650 batteries last about 12 hrs. for me. I need help in buying additional batteries for me. Can anyone tell me what battery options I have (I want 18650's). I see some on ebay but don't know if they'd be the right one: 4X UltraFire 18650 3 7V Rechargeable Protected Li ion Battery 4000mAh Flashlight | eBay

These are 4000 mah! But would they work and be safe? I know I need unprotected.

Stay away from those batteries!

What batteries do you have now that only last 12 hours?

personally, i think the Vamo in 18350 mode is only slightly less huge than full-sized-- but still huge. not that much more well-suited for public.

I dont know if i made a mistake, i bought this battery NEW-AW-Black-18650-3-7v-3400-mAh-protected-battery-p just to replace the batteries that came with my kamry k200 from fasttech, i know is not the best mod but is working better than my ego, since i notice some faults in the mod, im thinking to buy a vamo, and im wondering if that battery is ok for the vamo or for the k200.

Thank you

Those are good batteries. Are they the right ones for a variable voltage mod? Probably not.
I have a similar pair of AW 3100 mAh protected batteries that work well in my Silver Bullet.
I've tested them in a Vamo and they work.
When I use them in my 18650 flashlight I can get them pretty hot using high beam though.....

Here's the thing. VV mods are designed to work with high drain batteries because they use a higher current draw to achieve higher voltage then the battery would otherwise put out. I have seen amp limits (like 5A on a Vamo), but I haven't seen anyone test to see what the actual amp draw is when using these devices.

With that in mind, like Provape does, I would only recommend using high drain batteries.

Fasttech sell a few 18650's to choose from.
In my Vamo, I am using Panasonic CGR18650CH's and they work great.
They sell a Vamo kit that includes 2 of these and a decent charger.

$10.51 Panasonic CGR18650CH Rechargeable 2250mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Here are 3 more from their website to choose from:

$14.50 Panasonic NCR18650PD 18650 3.6V 2900mAH Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$11.94 Sony US18650VTC3 18650 1600mAh 3.7V Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack - 30A discharge at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$10.27 Samsung INR18650-20Q 3.6V 2000mAh Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery (2-Pack) 2-pack - with carrying case at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

There is a 20A version of the Samsung model that appears to only be available from a China ebay seller.
It tested really well in the flashlight forums.

(edit)

Here's the 20A Samsung listed on ebay.
I can't speak to the reputability of the vendor because I rarely do any business on ebay.

That's why I asked  I'm going to get the $14.50 Panasonic NCR18650PD 18650 3.6V 2900mAH Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I've been using the ones that came with my kit Panasonics CGR18650CH 18650. The above are supposed to be better.

Wow, you must be hitting that thing pretty hard! :p
I get 1.5 days out of mine and I have never let them get down to 3.2V.
