When I originally got my Vamo I liked it at very low watts, 3.5-5 (this is about equal to your volts with the ohms I use). Lately I'm liking it higher, 6.5-8. This is with a Vivi Nova.

Part of the reason is dirty coils. It simply takes more to heat up the gunk. One exceptional coil gunking liquid I use quickly requires 12w.
Another issue is my Vivi's have started flooding if filled. It really takes high watts to cook through that. Without high watts it seems to shut down but actually it's just flooded beyond what the wattage can handle.

I haven't been worried about that loss of power because it is more in line with how my eVic has been hitting with the same tank so I figure the Vamo hasn't got lower than it should be, it got more in line to where it should be and it was hyper active when it was new.
Realistically 3v should not be making much noise. Even at 1.5Ω that is only 6w.

The early shut off is a problem, assuming it is actually shutting off and not flooding out. I just timed mine, 10 seconds. I agree with others, battery or contact.
