I am curious about turning my Vamo off. I understand I should turn it off (5 clicks) when i am putting it in my pocket or such, but if I go to bed, and leave my Vamo sitting on my desk and won't be using it for a day (I work all day every other day, so every other day it will be used all day, and every other day it will be just sitting). So should I turn off the unit when I am at work? Or is it OK to leave it in the "on" function when I am going to be away from it for most of the day? Thanks

I turn off any pv I've been using if I'm going to leave it for several hours. There is a current load on the battery when on standby, which reduces usable battery life. Its small for the Vamo:
Zmax V2 RMS 0.11 mA
Vamo VV / VW 0.15 mA
YoungJune 2.1T 0.16 mA (5-clicking on it)
Provari 0.96 mA
(from Mountain Prophet)

My reason for turning off pvs if left for a long time is just that its safer.

There is a current load in the off position as well I believe. As with any electronic control it has to have standby power for the ICs to work on initial button press. I think the only way you would completely remove any parasitic current draw is to take the battery out completely. YMMV. I haven't turned mine off since I got it 'cept when changing out the battery and then I always turn it right back on
