You can use the button tops in shorty mode. However, some people have reported that they can not screw their battery cap on all the way when using stacked button top 18350s.

Thank you for answering me, been trying to get this question answered for a while. I have aw imr 18350 batteries and really would rather not have to buy more. I would only want to use them in the short mode, don't think I would feel safe stacking.

The AW batteries you already have will work great in shorty mode. You really only need to stack if you want to vape at high power. It is reasonably safe to stack if you follow the stacking rules about permanently pairing the batteries for both use and charging, alternating the top/bottom positions and periodically checking to make sure the voltage for both batteries remains the same.

OK, so I ordered from Fasttech. I had found a thread somewhere [now cant find it] to order stuff separately.
I wound up getting the SS model, a Nitecore I 4 charger & the same 18650's that came with the kit with the I 2 charger.
It was under $59. So, for a few $$ more, I think I got an upgrade for a charger & got the Vamo SS, which most seem to recommend....

Now I wonder what is the deal with the various things to put on top of it [ProTank, Evod, etc.] & the use of adapter rings?
How do you know which adapters to get & where do you get them? From what I found most adapters got terrible reviews & seem to be made with lousy threads & don't wind up working at all. I'd like to put a Protank/Evod or similar on it.
Isn't the idea to save the threads on the Vamo? Does anyone know what tanks, clearos, etc. work well on the Vamo?
Surely someone knows what works best & also, where do you get the quality adapters. I cant figure this out at all. Whats the difference of adapters that have a cone shape, lipped or not & with/without notches? What exactly does one need, if at all?

Like I said, I'm confused about it all & need to order the correct things to make the Vamo work as best as it can.
Thanks for all the input & please let me know what/where to get these things. Or, are the adapters really necessary?
I'm a bit lost & don't understand & have only read stuff like - "it wont work on the Vamo without an adapter" Am I mistaken?

What is a good all around setup that works best on the Vamo?
Are the Vamo threads the weakest link?

Thanks

Im using evods, pro tank and "vision" vivi novas. The less i liked is the protank because is even more airy on the vamo, the evods just dont tight hard fits very well and are exellent vapers on vamo, and for the vivi novas im using the eGo cover ring with flairs so no visible gap and i can tight the 510 threading very well without pushing too hard on the vamo.

You might consider this Tank Air Flow Controller. Not only will it help with Tank Air flow problems, but will save your threads if you think this will be a problem. The top threads are 510 so most tanks will fit without any other adapters.
