I've been using my vamo for a month now and it works great. I've heard that there might be an issue with the center pin being pushed
down to far and contact with an atomizer gives false readings. Any truth to this? And what's the solution?
Yes, tho I haven't experienced it yet (white washer at the base of the center pin disappearing under the pin on the VAMO). I'll add the link to the thread where I was pointed to for the center pin/washer fix and discussion:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/375871-vamo-ohm-error-fix.html . . . get Home Depot #60 "O rings" by Danco 10pack $2.27 and use ONE as per directions in the fix talked about in the thread referenced here.
My experience (went from Clearomizers to EVODs)....After a bit, working with Kanger EVOD tanks on top that wobbled a bit, I screwed them down too 'snug' and then began getting 'LO ohms' readings on my LED screen and nothing worked then... another ECF member said to tug/encourage the pin down on the bottom of my EVOD tank (it just slides in and out of the washer holding it in place) and that solved my Lo ohms readings problems (things began making contact and working).
I can still see the white washer at the base of the center pin on top of my battery (VAMO) - so I'm having fun learning it's workings too! I LOVE the vape it gives! but it's really big for this 68 yr old gramma (grin) - used at home when my eGo C Twists (all 650 mAh) are charging.
I have 4 of the 650 twist batteries and my first one doesn't last as long anymore (in the beginning I charged it up before it ran completely out and thus shortened it's running time from then on) - but dang, I bought these in February of this year and have been using all of them most every day since and they're going strong still !! for $20 each, whoever said they're a good buy was not kidding! I've been quite happy with their size, portability, quality and output!
The verdict is still out on the VAMO being used much by me (with one 18350 battery/short mode) because of the weight and size - but I love being able to test newly rebuilt atomizer heads (coil/wick) on the top of the VAMO, also using the RMS (No. 2) mode, and trying out the higher power for more flavor and plumes of vape it gives! I did purchase a 510 to eGo adaptor for it, so I could grab the base of my EVOD tanks to unscrew them from the VAMO easier. (I dumped two tankfuls of juice into my lap when the EVODs unscrewed and came apart, leaving their base on the top of my VAMO - not fun!) Read in here, learning a lot from my errors - haha!
