Hi,

I just got my GF a VAMO V3, I'm currently using an ego twist, and I'm completely jealous and blown away at the difference. So naturally I'm getting a VAMO myself.

Here's the VAMO: Kingston Vape E-cigarette supplies. Vamo
It says V2, but from what I can, that's actually a V3. So first question, how do I tell the difference?

Will this battery work? Can't tell if it's flat top or nipple top. They recomend flat top, but maybe that's just for the 2 18350s?

There's also this option, any thoughts?

Also, Why on earth do my flavours taste completely different on the VAMO even with the same tank? If I had to guess, it's the batteries.

Thanks.

Thats a V2 the V3 has swirls on the body , the batteries used in the Vamo have a higher amp limit than the ego style batt , that's a short explanation for the difference , but I would highly suggest you do more research on ECF before buying another Vamo , they are problematic devices and better can be had for the money .

Hopefully someone who knows more than I will help answer your questions. I just wanted to ask why you are looking at the Vamo 3 instead of the newest vamo 5. From what I have seem they all look pretty much alike but each version has, hopefully, a few improvements. I have an older vamo (1.5 years old) and it is still going so they are a good choice in my opinion. I use both flat top and nipple batteries in mine and I am pretty sure you can use both in any versions of the vamo. I have also seen that the price is about the same no matter what version you buy. I hope someone else knows a reason for choosing one version over the other so that they can help you decide but either version of batteries should be ok.

As far as flavors tasting better, you have a lot more options with a VV/VW device as far as changing your settings to find the best setting for you, which in this case is the best setting that gives you the best flavor.

Hey, I had no idea they were problematic, I'll definitely look around to see what's up.

As for why I'm getting a V2 / V3 instead of a V5, it's just what's available locally in Canada. If there's a blatant night and day difference between the versions (other than the screen), then I might check out other Canadian suppliers for it.

Edit: my ego twist can adjust the volts, and I had them set the same. The VAMO seems to come out warmer and full of flavour on identical tanks. That's why I was wondering.

Yes to answer your battery question. Either one of those will work. Good luck & VAPE ON:vapor:

I own both the V2 and V3 and the quality is much improved on the V3. V2 the button is wonky. V3 is perfectly fine. As for the finish realize the Chrome is a fingerprint magnet and scratches very easily. Friend bought one against my advice. Babied it- within 3 weeks scratched. When the Vamo came out it was the very first budget PV. Now many better APVs either in the same price range or little more $$.

The threading is weak on the Vamo's and so is the bushing on the 510 connection , the 510 /ego connection on the Vamo's are plated brass , it's too soft and most 510 devices wobble on them , buy an adapter to protect the threads on your GF's Vamo , I would suggest looking at a Innokin SVD or one of the Sigeli mods Zmax or Vmax with stainless steel connections and spring loaded center pins , A friend and I purchased 2 Vamo 3s 6 months ago , the bushing disintegrated on one and juice got past it and fried the chip , the screen went out on the other and it is heading for the garbage can , Buy a ego to 510 adapter pronto .

If you get a Vamo ( any version) dont drop it.... they are as fragile as eggs... consider the SVD

i have 2 vamo's a v3 that i love and a press fit that was sold to me as a v3. after having it knocked off a deck onto a tile floor the press fit started coming apart and the tank popped off. the other v3 screws together and after taking the extension tube off the press fit to protected my tank. it has hit the floor and pavement several times and still works great. maybe i am lucky but so far i havent had any issues. i also went out and got some rubber o-rings and use them as grip / body protection kinda looks odd but keeps the buttons and screen from hitting the floor when dropped.

If I may ask y is that? It seems like a 18650 battery would be better than a 18350? Please explain

a bad day at the track is better than a day of not running at all

It's how it works under a realistic load. You'll get somewhere over 4v and it won't be able to boost it further. Depending on the load and what you like it may do what you need or it may not.
But when you stack it does what it's supposed to do (i.e., "full potential").

    About 19 minutes.
He wonders why you would want to, the reason I want to on one of my Vamos is dual coil RBA. I just couldn't get the two 3Ω coils I like warm enough with a single 18650. Even my SVD which will fire a 1Ω dual that is more like my usual 2Ω coils I like it slightly more than a single battery can provide.
Since I like 2Ω coils I have no problem with single coils and 18650s.

About 25 minutes, actually shows the difference.

I have the v5 and it is a great vape. I did drop it on the buttons and crushed the + button. It made it scroll through wattage settings constantly without touching it. I was able to take it apart and fix it fairly easily after finding a similar button in an earbud from a samsung cell phone, I guess it was the mute button in the little box halfway down the wire. I also had to solder both wires back onto the pcb because they broke from handling it while fixing the button. It works like new again but is obviously pretty fragile. One good thing is that it had a protank on it when I dropped it and it bent the tube and broke glass on tank but didn't hurt the threads on the vamo at all.

I use the ncr18650b batteries on it and also use samsung inr18650-20r and I can't tell any difference between the 2. I know baditude knows way more about batteries than I ever will so he is probably right because I never really use the vamo beyond 8 or 9 watts maybe the difference would be with higher wattage?

Anyway I would recommend the v5 to anyone that wants a nice vape but also can be careful with it because it don't like to be dropped. Here is a pic I took after I gutted it and found the problem with the button.

i started off with 2 vamos but honestly i would never pay $45 for one way to much . heck i paid less than that for my svd and i like it alot more than the vamo . i understand you wanting to buy local but you can do better for the same amount of money.

You don't want to know what I paid for an SVD locally or what I will be paying for the VTR. I may be able to beat the price on the internet but if it ever comes down to a ban on internet sales I won't be doing better than having a local a few blocks away that I'm sure will be willing to get me whatever I need.

As far as Vamo vs SVD, I'd take the Vamo. The only thing I like the SVD for is it can go to .8Ω.
