VAMO switching into AVG mode all by itself

My VAMO seems to have started switching into AVG mode all by itself. Been in RMS since Christmas and just now started going into AVG all by it's lonesome. I can tell every time because the vape gets really harsh and when checked by holding the button down it reads No.2 which means it was in No1 (AVG) mode when I held the button down.
I got it from a friend as a Christmas present and of course the warranty is probably out. He got it from Health Cabin. They were very good about sending me a new battery cover when the "Hot Spring" issue came up but, I doubt they are going to be as nice about sending me a new Bamboo (Vamo). I guess I can email them and see what they say.
Anyone else having this problem?

Oh my. I just held my button down too and got no. 2 also. Hmmm I'll keep an eye on that. Did you play around to see if it was switching at battery change, ohm checking or etc... I'll do that here a little

When you hold the button down and then it says rms2 that is the mode it is now in. In rms2 it will show watts in mode 1 volts. I haven't heard of that problem before. Are you able to switch back to rms mode?

If you hold left for 5 seconds, it shows the battery voltage.
If you hold right for 5 seconds, it shows the atty resistance.
If you hold both buttons 5 seconds it switches between VV (shows volts) and VW.
If you hold either button (but not both) 10 seconds it switches between AVG (N01) and RMS (N02). That is independent of whether it is in VV or VW mode.

That happened to me once in about 2 months. It's the worst state bat i have that sometimes at about 4,1V of bat voltage, still turns off the Vamo, and one time about one or two weeks ago, it did a wattage reset, it must have been that one time. I was getting a smacked troat some times and this saturday saw it was on AVG mode. Bahh.
10 seconds, RMS mode and OMG, so much better.

Interesting, all my Vamos show voltage or resistance within like 1 second of pressing either of the buttons. Mine also takes about 1 or 2 seconds to show bat voltage ou atty resistance.
About 3 seconds to change between voltage and wattage.
Takes about 9-10 seconds to switch between AVG nº01 or RMS nº02 mode.

It's the V2 Vamo.

With just a click (no holding) it will show the current setting. If it shows 'v' on the right it is setting voltage and ignoring wattage. If it shows 'w', it is setting wattage. (It isn't "ignoring" voltage since that is how you get watts, but there is no way to find out what voltage it is using.)

AVG/RMS are unrelated to whether it is in voltage or wattage mode - RMS and AVG are 2 ways of producing and checking the desired output. (AVG just says "meh, roughly 3V" where RMS samples the output to make sure it is correct, avoid dropouts etc..)

Remember that in the background, it is always producing volts. It is just whether it is producing a level you set (variable voltage) or a level it calculated (variable wattage.)

I thought he meant when holding the button down and it shows no2 that means you just changed it to no2. Ok? So if you hold it down and it says no1 you just changed it to that. See? I feel I'm rit on this because when I first got it that is how it happened when I was checking all the stuff. And yes. Raunchy hits on no1. Maybe that's just Vamos vv but I am now a firm vw person. Maybe for no good cause. I have a kick, looking to get the Can. All because I love mechanical mods and VW. I don't need all the other stuff. I have an ohm reader and I have a Passthrough volt reader. For when I need it. I guess I just got used to all that because I like the solidness of mechanicals and beauty of many and don't want to spend a bunch of money for little chips and things that act up and I use periodically. Blah blAh...I do love the Vamo. Mostly because when it breaks it was chewp enough I dont have to send it in somewhere and its been working fine, until yes, raunchy hits and didnt quite realize. Councedwnce this post popped up because i was blaming it on my atty. it wasnt it.

If you hold it down and it says N02, it was in N01 mode and changed. If it says N01, it was ok and needs to be set back. (There is no way to get it to show you the current setting, you can only change it.)

Correct. Mine was in No. 1 and when I press and hold for 10+ seconds it changed into No. 2. The problem is that it has been changing into No. 1 (AVG) all by itself. Now that you mention it, it has been turning itself off lately as well. Don't know might be time for a new one, now just need to find the fundage.

Hmmmm. Keep my eye out for that too. Heh....I was just saying I don't need another regulated Mod untll my Vamo dies. I don't want it to die but then again for the price and all that... I don't like anything out there right yet. Waiting for something to come out I like with decent price that can dress up like the Vamo.

Mine switched to no1 on its own once, you can really taste the difference and as soon as I switched it back it was perfect again. No other issues at all.

This can happen if you put the Vamo in your pocket and one of the small buttons gets pressed for 10 seconds. If it is happening just sitting upright, there could be a problem. Everyone should download a copy of the manual and read it several times to get familiar with the controls, they are not as user friendly as one would think. Like someone else posted, if you hold one of the small buttons down for 10 seconds it will show you the mode you are changing into. Most people keep their Vamo in NO2 for a more controlled softer vape. This is the recommended mode. Therefore if you hold the small button for 10 seconds and it says NO1, it is already in NO2 and will change to NO1, and you need to do it again to get it back into NO2.

It might have been leaning into something just right in my tray pile when I loaded a bunch of stuff on top and put it on the floor to change my bed. It seems to have coincidentally happened just once right about the same time the post came up so glad he posted. I really should turn these things off when I'm not using them. Funny thing i read this and check and sure enough mine was on 1 so i switched it last night. Then today i went to use it and noticed my watts was all the way down so i checked and there it was back on no1 again. Hrmmm this is gonna get annoying if it is going to happen often now.

I am on vacation in South Florida so, if anyone knows of a good local store I might just stop in and get a new one. I like it but, have only had it since Christmas and it should not be screwing up this soon! It doesn't fire every time I hit the button either.

I was showing a friend all my Vamo's features and forgot how to change from VV to VW. My bad

I was stuck in VV and it started to taste too strong even with lower volts. Thought it was broken.

Now changed back to VW and the taste is good again.
